Resident doctors at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idi-Araba, on Wednesday embarked on a two-day protest to press home their demands.

The President of the Association of Resident Doctors, Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idi-Araba, Dr Kayode Makinde, said it was painful that some of the resident doctors had not been paid for five months.

Our health care budget is 900billion...that's 2.9 billion dollars

Sounds like a lot...until you realise that some European countries spend 100 bn USD on health.

If you want better health care, and regular salaries...it's either we pay higher bills, high taxes, or beg IMF for another loan.

I will agree with the management to an extent. The FG is not so much irrespsponsible to owe doctors salaries up to 5 months. However, both parties needs a resolve.

Naija my country!
In Canada, doctors are protesting they are paid too much, in Nigeria, doctors are owed months of salary and those owed months are not up to the amount a doctor makes in a month in Canada!!!! Who we offend for this country sef?
