Do you have a firewall ? There are various ways you can gain access especially through your firewall. What kind of firewall do you have installed.

It's just windows firewall. Here is what the problem is exactly. I have developed a software using mysql database. The database is installed on a computer which acts as the server. Other computers in the network are able to connect to same database. Now, I want to be able to also connect to the same database even when I m not physically connected to the network from a remote location.

Port forwarding can be done. Who is your ISP?

MTN. I have an MTN 4g LTE router but it seems the port forwarding settings are not complete. I have tried that option B4.

Wanted to go for another router (Swift) but the ISP isn't available at that location. Could you recommend another router

Keep a system on standby 247 and use team viewer.

That's the only other option I can think of

I thought of that as well but its not just one user that needs to access the database from a remote location. Other people want to access too
Re: Access To My LAN Office Network From Any Location by abrahambest(op): 8:27am On May 12, 2019
I only need to have remote access so I can use same database in the lan. There's a front end software that needs to connect to that database which has to be run from any remote computer

quick tip: Make sure you setup your firewall rules properly, and that your network is not vulnerable before making it public. I may exploit it. xD

Very simple......do ip and port forwarding. Forward the ip address of the computer running the application and open the port.
2nd option, get a static ip from ur isp. Den configure vpn l2tp, pptp etc on ur router. Den set up vpn client on ur laptop. Den u can access the app anywhere.

Any1 u want.

I agree with this solution because most ISP provides dynamic ips.
