Kogi scenario isn't the same. The election was inconclusive as when the Gov died. Assuming , the final result was announced before the Gov died now, Faleke ,the deputy then would have become the governor.

No, the Constitution never said so. the deputy can only take over if his death happens after swearing in. in this case, the speaker of the state house of Assembly will take over on acting capacity until a new election is conducted.

Something that happened not quite long in Kogi when Abubakar won and died. The issue became a party affair. Party is the one fielding Candidates and they pick yahaha who came 2nd in primary election. is that what you people are debating on.
One said deputy will take over

Former Minister of Police Affairs, Dr Ibrahim Yakubu Lame has died.

His an All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain and governorship aspirant in Bauchi state died at a private hospital in Abuja on Saturday night.

Late Lame’s spokesperson, Nasuru Darazo confirmed the death to our reporter on telephone. Born in 1953, he attended Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and Ohio University, USA.

The former Police Affairs Minister was appointed as head of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) by President Muhammadu Buhari.
