Laws of Football says the referee is a "moving goalpost". So if the ball touches him by accident, and it enters into the net, then a goal is awarded.. it is assumed that the ref is like a goal post and if the ball canons off the goalpost and enters the net, then a goal is given.

It is clear in the FIFA Rule Book. If the ref makes the last contact before the ball lands in the net, a goal is awarded.

If a ball goes into the net from something that should be on the pitch,like a referee...its a goal.
They're changing the law next season but at the minute the goal stands,easy decision...Blame the ref on poor positioning.

That's fine...but it has to do with the ball rebounding off the referee....the referee is like a moving goal post...this case he was like a striker. The ball did not rebound off of him...he intentionally kicked it towards the goal.
The goal should be challenged...and he banned.
