I found a car dealer on nairaland and saw car I liked in Canada. I asked for the VIN but he said "individual owners don't usually provide VIN", These were his exact words.
Please how true is this?
He looked authentic but this is a red flag for me. Should I go ahead and do business with him?

Hello Sir

We do not recommend making payment for any car for which the VIN is not available for any reason.

Besides history of accidents, flood etc, the car could be a stolen vehicle, which would get one in trouble with law enforcement.
