Pastors, Christianity and the Private Jet Syndrome By OMA | 28-05-2019 | Religion | Its now a competition between pastors Iginla.jpg This thing is getting so so annoying and so irritating and if unchecked would cause greater Economic regression in the society. Every Religion has their fair share of its own short comings but Christianity in Nigeria has been thrown to the Highest bidder. I stand to be corrected tho!. I Never heard of any islamic cleric enriching himself from proceeds of Money ment for the Mosque neither have I heard of any Islamic Cleric acquiring a private Jet. This is rather becoming un-becoming. It is only in Nigeria you have Richest Pastors with poorest congregation. It is only Nigeria Churches that uses Church proceeds to Build Private Universities and the poor widow's child in such a church can Never afford to attend such a University. It is only in Nigeria someone would have 3 Private Jets and members of the congregation can hardly eat 3 square meal, Praying and hoping on a miracle. This Private Jet syndrom worst-still seems to be a competition between Nigerian Pastors at the moment. Here is a list of Nigerian Pastors with Private Jets. Pastor Enoch Adeboye of the Redeemed Christain Church of God. Bishod David oyedepo of the Winners Chapel. Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, Apostle Jonhson Suleman and several others. Latest addition to the list is Pastor Joshua Iginla, The Founder of Champions Royal Assembly. Pastor Iginla made this disclosure during his sunday sermon in Abuja. This is the same Pastor whom admitted barely 2months ago to have cheated on his Wife to have impregnated another woman. This is the same pastor who also admitted just in Febuary 2019 that he bought a house worth over $1m. One Million Dollars in the United States which is the current Abode of his wife and Children.. The church even went as far as posting a video of the private jet on social media handles of the Church. A very Religious country ridden with so much corruption is the height of hypocrisy. Our so called "Men Of God" Or "god of Men" must rethink thier greedy Ostentatious tendencies.. https://www.omascope.com/religion/pastors-christianity-and-the-private-jet-syndrome

We should not be discouraged, we have few good ones. We should not allow the bad eggs in the basket make use feel that all the eggs in the basket are rotten. |

The saddest trend today is the showing off and spending habits of people in the church which differ little from those of the world. The lifestyles of most professing Christians today are not substantially different from anyone else’s. Too many in the church (especially the leaders) have adopted the world’s indulgent attitude toward money. Almost every form of materialistic extravagance and excess has found its way into the fellowship of Christian believers. It is as if the church has forgotten Jesus’ mandate to invest in eternity. The symbol of the Christian faith is no longer the CROSS but seems to be PRIVATE JETS among church leaders such that it appears to be a tight competition among pastors nowadays to own and fly private aircrafts in a country where over 80% (including their members) live in abject poverty. If God were to take the Holy Spirit out of this world, most of what the churches are doing would go right on and nobody would notice the difference. Worse still, most church goers depend on wordly wisdom and energy to attempt to do God’s works. Of what use are the GIFTS of the Spirit without the FRUITS. If we expect the Holy Spirit to be effective in our churches, we must seek to glorify ONLY JESUS CHRIST above everything in all we do.
