Obasanjo's Claim Of Fulanization, A Definition Of His Failed Leadership by Idokojimmy: 10:00am On May 31, 2019
The recent accusation of Fulanisation and Islamisation by former President, Rtd. Gen. Olusegun Obasanjo on the current administration is a shame and outright show of failed leadership by the former President. Obasanjo claimed that Boko Haram insurgency emanated from lack of education and lack of employment in the country which has led to a West African Fulanisation, Islamisation and global organized crimes ranging from human trafficking, money laundering, drug trafficking, gun trafficking, illegal mining among others.

OBJ suddenly forgot that Boko Haram Insurgency started in 2002, three (3) years after he assumed mantle of leadership in this country. Even if we are to pardon him for allowing this insurgent group to evolve, he carelessly watched the group gain more prominence during his remaining four (4) years tenure.

One begins to wonder why he failed to contain or address the issue. Perhaps the former President had envisaged that the terrorist group would become a franchise in future. He hugely benefited from it through numerous outrageous unaccounted budgetary allocations made for the menace which he birthed at the expense of future generations.

Obasanjo under the PDP regime obviously cared less about security of the citizens, rather, he focused on how to build businesses and brands that will make him wealthy even after he is long gone from the seat. No wonder, Obasanjo who record has it that at the time of release from prison had just a total sum of twenty-five thousand naira (#25, 000) in his bank account, now generates millions of naira from his farms on a daily basis while t Nigerians are struggling to make ends meet.

Obasanjo is a colossal failure, and has no business addressing the current administration on security issues and governance in general because he failed during his own time, folding his arms while issues evolved and degenerated. The old man is now busy playing politics because he wants to remain relevant.

How I wish Nigerians will stop being gullible and pay deaf ears to politicians who only care about themselves and no one else. This minute they are promising heaven on earth and making their political rivals look like they haven’t done anything right, and when the table turns, the same people will forget the heaven on earth as promised.

I hope Nigerians will wake up and take their destinies in their own hands and stop hoping on men like Obasanjo who seek to divide and destroy the gullible. There are many Nigerians making us proud within and outside the shores of the country. Individuals like Chimamanda Adiche who recently bagged two honorary degrees in less than one week among others deserve this energies and attention we pay to retired politicians like Obasanjo, lets refocus our attention on making Nigeria and Nigerians better.

God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Obasanjo has a point. What is wrong with this administration sef? Now, "Baba go slow" after being sworn in, immediately jetted out of the country to attend one OIC meeting, without a sense of direction. Don't call me a prophet, but these terrorists OBJ is talking about are watching with keen interest and may likely take advantage of the lapses. Please, baba, Nigerians want to know what your plans for the next four years are. I remember during OBJ days, short, medium and long terms goals were properly highlighted and articulated. Is OBJ lying?

There are somethings that should be discussed among men...the habit of always running to the press is not good for us as a nation.

Though he wasn't totally bad as a president, he needs to follow suit as past leaders like Gowon have and advise govt from the sidelines. I'm beginning to lose respect for the man, as he is always running to the media to spit misguidedly, which we all know is for fear that someone would one day call him out on his multiple failures.

And what is the message?
If there's any message to be heard, it shouldn't come from Obasanjo.
He's one of our biggest problem as a nation

Nigeria was relatively safer when Obasanjo was president. is it not possible he knows a thing or two that can help the nation be safer.

But the security problems we are facing as a nation emanated during his tenure, most especially Boko Haram
