‘We’re ready for Court action’ – Oyo govt defends sack of 33 Council bosses

Oyo State Government has said that the chairmen of the 33 Local Government Areas (LGAs) and 35 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) were sacked because the election that led to their emergence was illegal.
Speaking with journalists in Ibadan on Friday, Chief Bisi Ilaka, the Chief of Staff to Gov. Seyi Makinde, justified the action of the state government.
Ilaka said that the local government election that was conducted by the last dispensation was illegal as it contravened court order.
He said, “The new administration in the state is committed to rewrite all the wrongs of the last administration.
”We have nothing to hide and this government is waiting for them to challenge the decision of this administration.”
He said the Seyi Makinde led government was ready to obey court orders that were valid.
”All security agencies have been informed about the development,” Ilaka added.

Anything to move Oyo state forward, and block leakage of resources is allowed

I wonder why a new sitting governor will wnt to put up a fight in so many battle fronts....yesterday was NURTW, now it LGA ....who knows tomorrow. ..to me settle down first n watch, before taking them one at a time.

My brother, the earlier the better. He had his plans well mapped out before he was sworn in. Action governors hit the ground running.
