Dr Orji Uzor Kalu, former Governor of Abia State, has endorsed Hon Femi Gbajabiamila, Majority Leader of the House of Representatives, as Speaker of the lower legislative chamber in the 9th Assembly, Igbere TV can report.

Igbere TV reports that Kalu, a Senator-elect of the All Progressives Congress (APC), endorsed the lawmaker when he received him at his residence in Abuja, on Sunday.

He was accompanied by some lawmakers, including Hon Abdulmumin Jibrin, Spokesman of his campaign, Gbajabiamila Group.

The Forbes-rated billionaire urged Gbajabiamila to carry every member along in the 9th Assembly irrespective of party affiliation.

Recall that the former governor had similarly endorsed the candidature of Senate Leader, Ahmed Lawan for Senate President of the 9th Assembly.

Kalu is a top contender for Deputy Senate Presidency of the red chamber in the 9th Assembly.
