President Buhari has described residents of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), as a necessary evil he must protect even though they did not vote for him and his Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo in 2019 general elections.

Buhari to Abuja residents: You are necessary evil and I?ll protect you despite not voting for me

The President said this today June 4th when FCT permanent secretary, Christian Ohaa, led a delegation of Abuja residence comprising religious leaders, National Assembly members, civil servants, service chiefs and heads of other security agencies among others to pay him Sallah homage to mark the successful completion of this year’s Ramadan fast.



While speaking to the delegation, the President Buhari said that he would continue to protect the seat of power because any negative thing that happens to the place would also affect him and the entire residence.

“I want to appreciate the number two man of the country because he knows what we are going through very quietly. I am very pleased that you came with this very powerful constituency. I appeal to you to remain exemplary so that those under you will know that the country is doing very well. If you break down and complain, the impact will reverberate all over and then government will not be popular and whatever efforts we are making will not be appreciated.

-Does that mean that those that didn't vote for you but are not in the capital city would be threatened with insecurity?

- is this the reason Herdmen bandits kill and rape different communities which may not have voted the president in good numbers?

- if the president claims to have all constituency results how come INEC is finding it difficult getting same results for verification?.
