Mercy Aigbe has been trolled on by social media users for hailing Governor Sanwo-Olu, shortly after the Lagos State Governor shared an Instagram post.  Social media users who trolled on Mercy Aigbe for hailing Governor Sanwo-Olu, brought up her alleged affair with former Governor Akinwunmi Ambode. Sanwo-Olu had shared a photo with the caption; 

"We owe it to you all to be accountable for our every action. We are aware of the realities on ground, hence our push from day one. Good roads, housing, security, good education, clean environment, effective transportation channels, affordable and qualitative healthcare, etc are our rights and not privileges. Therefore, we will continue to strategize, work and collaborate with relevant agencies and authorities of different sectors to ensure we’re not deprived of our rights. To kickstart our day today, I signed the 2019 appropriation bill into law. This will enable us complete projects and kickstart new developments  #foragreaterlagos  @drobafemihamzat"
