I'm not doubting the efficacy of their operations, but I sure know their activities must be binded by rules of engagements and programmed to work with military under scope of surveillance and intelligence gathering operation. On no account. I repeat, on no account would any authority signed or approve of a civilian engaging armed bandits operating with heavy fire arms like GPMG, digital snipper riffle, FM and some of those deadly riffles.I get your point, but let's say this group could be likened to the now defunct Bakassi boys that helped tame all the notorious armed robbers and assassins in the south east... Especially in Onitsha and Aba. I know OSPAC has the full backing of the Governor of River State as well as the military and police consent. As a matter of fact they provide security for the Oil firms around their area and that's part of the reason you don't get to read about cases of White men being kidnapped unlike before.

The fear of collateral damage to the society won't let military give such go ahead. The highest they can do is to set out surveillance and intelligence gathering contract for the supposed civilian security and mandate them to work with OPDS (Operation Delta Safe) which is also an arm of military intelligence operation..

U will never see military guys holding GPMG on operation irrespective of severity, the objective is to dislodge, apprehend and hand over to police or civil defence as prescribed by code of conduct. But you see the guys they are coming after holding GPMG and digital snipper rifles without any law sanctioning them.. And to think of it, just one GPMG riffle os enough to overpower 5 to 6 soldiers holding those AK49 and those light fire arms..

U see.. This safety and security struggle is more complicated than we think.. May God help our government and all security forces.

You know nothing about OSPAC, it isn't just a vigilante group, it's much more than what you think, this was the same group that attacked Don waney, he had to escape to Enugu and they still trailed him to Enugu and killed him. To even think aloud, how many was the number of the so called vigilante to be able to capture a whole 12 notorious kidnappers? Were they in a coaster bus and up to 20 vigilante?

12 members of a notorious kidnap gang Terrorising East - West Road have been apprehended by men of the OSPAC.

OSPAC is a local vigilance group assisting in providing security at Ogba/Ndoni/Egbema Local Government Area (ONELGA) of Rivers State.

It was gathered the vigilante Group OSPAC had earlier today disguised themselves in a bus as passengers travelling along the Rumuji/Ndele axis of the east west road.

The kidnappers as usual launched attack on them, they were over powered and 12 were arrested.

Thank you my brother. I heard that story when I was kidnapped last year on that road in the kidnappers den. The real ones operates in Ndele and Rumu-ekpe axis and they are very brutal with a lot of jazz. It is only people like Abba Yari and is team that will be able to arrest them and not on the road. Most of these boys are Icelander cult group that come from different villages and meets in the two mentioned villages above to operate.
