The hatred between political parties ehn is becoming serious. From my own knowledge, the moment you leave a political post, you're still entitled to a government official car and few security...
I'm talking based on what happens in the Armed Forces...
Imagine new service chiefs ordering ex services Chiefs to return their official car and orderly.

The Government of Oyo State has ordered all former political office holders in the state to immediately return government vehicles and other assets in their custody.

The State government in a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Seyi Makinde, Mr. Taiwo Adisa, said that the former officials must ensure the return of the state’s assets within 48 hours.

The statement read: “It has been observed that some former political office holders are still in possession of official vehicles attached to their offices despite the fact that they are no longer in the service of Oyo State.

“Consequently, His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde has, therefore, directed that all former political functionaries who are still in possession of Government vehicles should return the same to Government Transport Pool within 48 hours.”

The statement added that anyone who fails to comply with the directive should be ready to face security agencies.

It added that the government will not fail to take all necessary steps to ensure the retrieval of its assets.

Like I always say, we lack robust system in Nigeria. Normally when any vehicle is purchased, it is supposed to be registered and assigned to a Staff
Or department. I can bet Makinde doesn't have an idea of how many cars were in the pool before he assumed office. I will only respect him if he can build a system that tracks all these government properties before he leaves office. Failure to do that, he will do the same when he's leaving. We need system that can checkmate corruption.
