GworoChewinMaga:
Al Mustapha was saying the truth. Yoruba political and traditional rulers sold Abiola down the River for both money and political currency.

Al Mustapha was tried in a Lagos state high Court and the case was prosecuted by the Lagos State ministry of Justice through the office of the State commissioner of Justice to which Osinbanjo was the State AG.

Al Mustapha appealed his conviction for murder at the State appellant court from where he was discharged and acquitted in 2014!

The federal govt at no time had any business with Al Mustapha's murder trial and conviction and even the appeal process rather it was purely a Lagos state affair.

The CPC brokered Al Mustapha's release as a pre-condition for a merger with the ACN to which Tinubu ordered his corrupt judges at the appeal court to not only discharge but acquit Al Mustapha.

Tinubu danced and bargained over Abiola's death to get this useless APC on the road and that is a fact.

Or have you forgotten that Buhari served under Abacha and that this same Buhari helped broker the release of Muhammed Abacha from Prison?

Let us go back to Abacha era and see how Tinubu as a NADECO member who was supposed to be fighting for the actualisation of Abiola's June 12 mandate entered into secret negotiations with Abacha to emerge as his VP during Abacha's attempt to transist to civilian rule.

The go between was none other than Gilbert Chagoury who was Abacha's main money launderer.

The same Gilbert Chagoury has been named as one of the biggest contributors to the Clinton Foundation.

Bill Clinton reversed his earlier decision to unveil sanctions on Nigerian govt targeting senior regime members after a generous donation via chagoyry on behalf of Abacha was made to the Clinton foundation.

Today, Gilbert Chagoury and Tinubu are bests of friends.

Abiola was only useful to them when he died.

How come none of Abiola's children have benefited from the civilian dispensation even though their father's death marked a pivotal change in Nigerian political landscape?

Even common house of rep position has not been offered to any of Abiola's children.
Fear Yoruba people.

TylerDurden:
The year is 1998 exactly 20 years ago, General Abacha had everything set for him. Not only was he the supreme leader of Africa's most populous Nation but he was about to make a great leap towards legitimizing his vice grip on power by transiting from Military Head-of-State to an "elected" civilian executive President.

All the registered political parties had endorsed Abacha as their preferred candidate and the Military brass had been purged by Abacha of any real or imaginary opponent to his transitional program.

Abacha had even secured from among his strongest critics and opposition (NADECO) one of their prominent members to be his Vice President. That individual was Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Abacha had hoped that with the likes of Tinubu (an erstwhile NADECO member), the June 12 debacle will be crushed. He was right. For Tinubu did not accept Abacha's invitation to join him in govt as VP on his own volition alone rather, Tinubu did consult widely among some NADECO chieftains the deal Abacha had offered to which they all agreed to. It was from this agreement that Abacha assumed he was already solidly the next civilian President.

The Lebanese Businessman, Gilbert Chagourywho was then a major international fixer cum financial money launderer to the Abacha Military regime had already placated the then Clinton led US administration to drop sanctions following the blow back and widespread condemnation that trailed the execution of Ken Saro-Wiwa. Chagoury will achieve all this with a generous and timely donation to the Clinton Foundation on behalf of Abacha.

Life had never been brighter for the Tyrant as he knew that Chagoury could be counted on to lobby the WH and other western Nations further to accept the legitimacy of his emergence as the newly elected civilian President of Nigeria.

The only major hurdle left was to dismantle any local opposition to his civilian transition most notably that echoing from the Southwestern regions of Nigeria. To achieve this Chagoury recommended Bola Tinubu to Abacha as his vice. This will naturally split NADECO and from there the movement will lose steam.

Abacha had now only to contend with time. For all the power he wielded, Abacha had no way to accelerate the clock to 1999 - the year to which he would have "won" a landslide victory over some stand-in candidate.

But Time is no respecter of man. Another force greater than Time itself came to halt Abacha's plans. Plans if he had succeeded, you can bet your last cup of garri he would have still been in Aso Rock.

Fast forward to present day and Tinubu is still trying to assist a Tyrant back into power for his own selfish reasons.

I have always maintained that Tinubu has no principle or morals - this may be his greatest asset coupled with his cunning ability to control and con the ever sheepish SW population to believe that a Tinubu self-serving agenda equates to a win situation for the Yoruba.

The only reason Buhari requires Tinubu in the coming election is not for Tinubu to campaign for him. NO! No amount of airbrushing of Buhari can replicate the feat done by the SW press and online opinion crafters since it is abundantly clear now even to the blind that Buhari is grossly incompetent in all spheres for the job. Neither is Buhari seeking Tinubu to assist him in rigging. NO! Buhari has at his disposal all state machineries and the electoral umpires to return him back to Aso Rock. Rather, the only reason why Buhari needs Tinubu and his band of rascals from the SW is the same reasons why Abacha decided to pick Tinubu as his Vice during the latter's transition program.

Buhari NEEDS Tinubu and the SW APC for only one reason: to not oppose his return as President in 2019 amidst widespread and blatant rigging.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Sani just likes being controversial for the sake of it. It was the FG that built the Stadium under the Presidency of OBJ. OBJ headed the Nigerian federal government then. Buhari is now in charge and fully entitled to do what he is doing with renaming the stadium after MKO. Like some have stated, OBJ did not build the stadium with his money. People should stop this silliness merely because they are upset Buhari seems to be fond of Yorubas more than any President since 1999. Yorubas have shown him undiluted love and support. Others should always remember this.

Dem say to piss no dey hard but fowl no dey piss.

Can you tell us one project Buhari has commissioned since 2015 and even when he was a military head of state?

You zombies have been blaming the Senate for your god's inability to deliver but was there any Senate in 1984 that slowed him to the point that his despotic reign can not boast of one single project?

If you say the time was too short, then consider that most of the infrastructure we enjoy in this country was built by OBJ in his transitional military junta of just 3yrs.

Obasanjo built that stadium in his first term(2003) to host all African games, besides building the International Conference Centre to host CHOGM. What did Buhari build in his first term in office?
