BREAKING: Chiji Collins emerges Imo Speaker unopposed

Members-elect of the Imo State House of Assembly on Thursday elected Chiji Collins as their Speaker.

He was elected unopposed following a nomination by Lawman Duruji (Ehime Mbano) and seconded Kennedy Ibe (Obowo).

The new Speaker was elected on the platform All Progressives Grand Alliance and defected to Peoples Democratic Party three days ago to enable him to emerge the Speaker.

Something is definitely wrong with our political system... How can one win an election with APGA and the defect to the PDP three days ago just to be the speaker..
We really need to stop this kind of politics. No ideology and the masses support them.
Nigeria is in such calamitous state cause it is inhabited by Nigerians, these leaders are a product of the society....we so much love any means (legal or illegal) to earn money and as such leadership becomes a mean...a country were prostitutes are called runs girls, fraud is called hustling.. It's my body, it's my life has done more harm than good

The zone he hails from had no PDP member and in the spirit of equity, justice and fairness the Okigwe zone is supposed to produce the speaker since Owerri Zone have the governor, while Orlu Zone produced the deputy Governor
