The INEC server issue has some resemblance with the 2019 CAF Champions League final VAR controversy. The only difference is that one is happening in politics, the other happened in football.

In that game, a team (Wydad Casablanca) scored a seemingly legitimate goal that was cancelled by the centre referee for offside. Wydad protested that the referee must consult the VAR to affirm his decision. The referee refused, and the game turned into a chaos. It was later discovered that referee had refused the call because the video system wasn't working.

Inside sources would later claim that the team already knew from the start that the VAR was not functional; that their insistence on consulting the VAR was part of a plan to show to the whole world how facetious the continental football body has turned the sport into.

I dare say that PDP is doing same to INEC.

Does anyone remember how it all played out before the presidential and NASS polls? How that INEC seemed so unprepared but continued to assure Nigerians that they are ready to conduct the elections?

INEC talked so much about its servers and card readers, and how they're going to use technology to make sure all that happens at the polling stations in terms of voting will automatically reflect in a central unit.

Fam, there was actually no server. Y'all should stop asking INEC for what they don't have.

My hunch tells me PDP knew of this from the onset. In fact, the moment the party quoted those outrageous figures it claimed to have gotten from INEC servers, I knew something was fishy. The umpire didn't really respond to that accusation, only APC did.

Both parties knew. INEC knew too, but they had lied to us from the beginning and so wanted to keep it that way. It's just unfortunate that PDP still brought the matter up again at the tribunal.

Again, I say, there is no server! INEC clearly wasn't ready for the 2019 presidential election. They had over three years to plan, but they failed.

It's sad.
