The era of using Microsoft Excel to perform data analysis is gone. The standard Data analysis software is now IBMStatistics SPPS software.

It provides you the opportunity of analysing data at the level of cases. Hence, it has both Variable and Data View modes.

It is suitable for the following types of school project analysis:

1. Questionnaire based research
2. Experimental based research.

Note that SPSS system missing cases can only be possible if the variable data type is set as string and you will then treat such cases as blank cells in the SPSS data view mode.

The two main data types used in SPSS are: Numeric and String. But Numeric data type is generally used most especially if the data been analyzed have system missing data.
