Senegal enjoyed a morale-boosting Ismailia triumph with a 1-0 win over Nigeria before their 2019 Africa Cup of Nations opener versus Tanzania.

Idrissa Gueye’s goal saw Senegal to victory against Nigeria as Aliou Cisse’s Afcon preparations build to a climax.

The match is nothing to write home about. Nobody should use the match to write off the players. Nigerian players don't take friendly match seriously. I remembered in 1996 ,there was a friendly match between Togo national team and the then dream team that conquered the world. The match ended 3-0 in favour of the Togolese team. A lot of people at the stadium were disappointed that day. The likes of JJ okocha ,KANU, Ikpeba, Okparaku Oruma played in the match. Friendly match is nothing.
