my dog Molli gave birth to 10 lovely sweet puppies on Saturday during wee hours. Between that Saturday and today Monday ive been picking death puppies like mango. Seven have died suddenly and am starting to loose hope on the remaining three. Pls help me. I don't know what to do. They are rottweilers.

I hope she's not stumping them to death with her legs?

My boerboel gave birth to 6pups 2weeks ago and because of her size compared to theirs, I had to move the babies away from her cage into the house. I only take them to her when it's time to feed and in the midnight I wake up twice to give then Nan 1 formula (vet's instructions)

are you sure they aren't dying of cold?
what kind of insulation do you use?

If the picture uploaded is the Dam & those her pups,I don't think u should have any issue cos d pups and d dam looks healthy.
There are many things involved when u experience this kind of issues,
1, it may b like the mother has been sleeping on them.
2,could be as a result of been exposed to cold,
3,could be an infection from the mother or where u r keeping them.
Work on these 3 issues,& ur pups won't die again;this is from experience.

Dude, the mother is sleeping on them! My neighbour's dog once had 7 pups, before we could say Jack, 5 of them died.
Then we later found out the mother was sleeping on them in her bid to protect them at night.
Check the area for cold and also make sure the place is not infected.

Request for a special vet advice from the state department of animal care in Alausa if you are in Lagos. My 10 kobo

Am very grateful for all Ur support. After doing a lot of research on day 2, I suspected- (1)worm attack on the puppies, (2)the mother might be stamping on the puppies while asleep. (3) I noticed some kind of wounds on the puppies skin- don't know wot it is . So I gave the mother deworming tablets. In the morning and ivermectin injection 2ml in the eve. (Repeated worm tabs for 3 days. As well as injection) I gave L/a injection 2ml. On day 2 eve. And the remaining puppies (3) responded. No more winning and crying. Today is day 5 and they all look healthy. N d mother is eating well now though she selects food. I'll update with pictures when I get home.

It's true because I pick 3 puppies from under the mother one was already death. 2 was weak and they later died in the day. But they are other discovery. All puppies looks as if infected. Because of too much winning and crying even though they are feedind well.

1, yes I noticed the mother sleeps on them.
2, the room is ok. Insulated with cardboard. On level 1. Cartoons on level 2 n 3.
3, the mother may be infected.
I have treated the mother and I think they have responded well. The remaining 3 puppies are ok. Though am still watching.

I think I'll try Ur suggestions next litter. I'll try to remove the puppies and see.

The three remaining puppies are now strong and bouncing. The mother is now consuming food as an elephant. I'll post pix on their development ASAP.

Nice one but next time pls be aware of all indifference to avoid casualties.

Re u sure the dam is lactating? Av u tried pressing the nipples if milk is coming out? The pup can easily die of hunger
