A Poem On Rap by lalaponcus(op): 8:56am On Jun 19, 2019
I could pick up this mic,
This morning.
And rap:
Of the pain of death that ravishes the mind;
Of this sham of 'change' that reeks of lies;
Of the blood of thousands that was used to water the South Sudanese soil;
Of the growing distrust of the flock in the ability of their temporary guardian;
And the veil of humor that shields the silent disregard of human values.

I could rap about good ol' love:
Of the motherland that should push you to do the right thing despite the allure of dishonesty;
Of your mama that should push you to book a special massage session for her this week;
Of your papa that should push you to the nearest shoe store to get a nice sole for his feet;
Of your sweet 'boyfren' that should propel you to get a PS 3 console for him;
And your breathtaking 'gehfren' that should push you to buy a malt for her.

Instead, let me spit new lines over an FL made beat of gratitude.
Lines of thanks to the Great One.
The omnipotent Dei who deifies us through His magnificent mercy.
The all-consuming Ray who burnt away every leech of sin that stuck to our bodies.
The all-pervading Spirit that sticks with us during our lowest moments.

Aye,
That is what I am inclined to rap about this morning.
So bump your head to this beat of thanks
And "hallelujah" your way to favor today.
