If India had had d economic policy of China in d 70s or had liberalised its economy 20-30years earlier, india might have been d china of today.

No,man. Up until the 1980s China was poorer than India. The effects of the one child policy of China only began to manifest years later.This things take time to show.That's why I am a bit afraid for Africa. We don't seem to understand anything about demography. The fact is that if India had implemented a one child policy too with the kind of wonderful economic policy it implemented in the 90s India today would be better than it is. But the average Indian family remained poor due to size. It is still affecting the country. If India is still poor with all the economic output it has then what is the reason if not the badly structured population. That's the difference between China and India.

That's why I emphasized proper education. Education goes beyond literacy rates.For example Congo Brazzaville has high literacy rate but has done little with it.Ditto Zimbabwe. Application is what matters.Africans need to learn this.

Of course.But then it is also about people not knowing how individual large families affect the larger society.
In terms of living standard and per capita wealth, Sweden is doing better than Spain.

If we were to look for an Asian comparison, it would be more apt to compare China and say,Malaysia, not China and Vietnam which is another communist country. Bottom line is that countries with a greying population are still better than countries with population crisis.
