That is the most honourable thing for him to do in my view.

sad I hope this will serve as a huge lesson to igbos not to follow PDP sheepishly next time. They are not getting anything at the federal level yet they pretend as if they're not hurt. How the 3rd majority tribe in Nigeria became irrelevant in the scheme of things is a mystery to sane minds sad
So they should bow to a lifeless president without integrity or plan and a drifting disaster of a political party because they want 'something at the center' Is your head paining you ? Ibo do not need the center. They are independent business people
You are a typical Nigerian. Totally without principles

Dogara is a humble politician

The North that has all the juicy positions, how has it affected the life of their average citizen

They are still the region with the highest poor people...still the region with the highest level of illetracy...still the region with the highest forms of diseases

You that have tribesmen up there, how many have credited your bank account

Y'all need to wake up, the struggle is against the political class and the citizens
Not between tribes, or religion, or any other thing
If majority of Nigerians start thinking like this, then there is hope. This is the difference between the Igbo man and others. Independent minded, critical, not going with the crowd.

What is wrong with dogara being minority leader? To all intents he will be the leader of the minority which will make femi uncomfortable on that seat. It's a masterstroke.
I've seen a lot of people saying the SE is losing. Losing what? All I see is that they're losing the number of looters in their midst

Bold 1----- His region did not benefit because they did not like him and he returned the gesture.
Bold 2-----He was surrounded by the wrong sets of people and over greedy people who saw their closeness to him as a way to enrich themselves.
Bold 3----That is happening because those involved are trying to proove a point and send a message across.
Bold 4----Don't ever believe such. The north is that way and may stay same because it benefits the elites, ruling class and privileged ones. It's a means to an end.....mostly personal.
Bold 5----If that is true, Peter Obi would not have accepted to be a running mate to Atiku under the PDP even though he has said derogatory words about the party.

The last is eternally true.
You just agreed totally with what he said. For whatever reason, no region has ever benefitted for having someone at the federal level. The point about Peter Obi is irrelevant because the same rule applies.

This is demeaning, demonizing, disgraceful and counterproductive.
I urge the ex - speaker to reject this demeanor with a compelling alacrity.

You did not get my drift.
Benefits come directly and indirectly.
You're trying to attribute regions to land mass.

Remember people, persons and personalities, represent regions.
So if those benefits don't get to the regions then it's not the portfolio that's the problem but the individual occupying it.

It's all a matter of individual choice.
To whom much is given, same is expected.
To whom little is given, a substantial increase is expected.

Till the masses throw aside all manner of sentiments and hold their leaders at the grassroots accountable, then those at the centre will know what's coming for them.

Oh yes, she grew from the ranks.
From, minority whip---minority leader---speaker----minority leader---speaker...................this is totally acceptable.

Can you say same for Hon. Dogara or anything close to that?
Its best he is made a committee chairman if need be.

Will it not be laughable if in no distant time we start seeing formers governors vying to be local government chairmen?

I know sense is far from u, who has federal power done anything for...

Tell me, OBJ ruled for 8yrs, osibanjo going 8yrs now, how has that helped osun, Oyo , ondo and Ekiti, they still remain where they are., even Abeokuta obj home town saw no improvement

Good luck ruled for 6yrs as a President, 2yrs as vice, how did that liberate the SS, what good did it bring to bayelsa his own state

Buhari the number 1 citizen, yet kidnapers and insecurity has taken his home, the north has ruled this country more than any region, yet they are the capital of poverty, most children out of school, insecurity headquarter.

The SE is missing nothing, because those ruling are gaining natihin

The country is a total joke

Yes same applies to Dogara. Gbaja was minorityleader-majorityleaader-speaker. Mitt Rommey was the republican candidate in 2012 but, is now a senator last november.

I have checked Hon. Dogara on Wikipedia. .....he has served as committee chairman. It's best he be made same in the committee where his contributions will be applauded.

Hon. Gbaja with what you have said is on track.

Apologies, but becoming a presidential aspirant is not a title. And even if he had become a former president who later turned to be a senator, then it can be said that he's on track. The American system as a president, you're subjected to the parliamentarians/legislators. The reverse is in Nigeria, so one does not expect a former president or former presidential aspirant who knows his/her onions to do same.
