Probably Momodu is not following the issue, OBJ said he was not invited that is the reason why he never turned up for the occasion. The response from the presidency was as a result of the statement credited to OBJ.

Power move from Buhari's camp, they are both Generals who know how to win a war without even firing a bullet, corner Obasanjo to silence and watch all is political prodigal Sons and Rascals hide in fear

Not really... Quite unnecessary, if we must say. Obj's presence or absence at that ceremony means nothing to majority of Nigerians...

The FG just came off as individuals chasing shadows, and majoring on irrelevant issues while the nation is at the brink of revolution.

They should get back to the drawing board, and leave an old ex-president out of their struggles... Nigerians still await the fulfillment of the promises made in 2015.

We have Buhari on record... He is the one in the balance, not Obasanjo.

Obasanjo has a right to attend or not to attend. But he shouldn't say that he wasn't invited, if actually he was invited. The second part is what Dele Momodu is avoiding to address.

He said he was not invited that is the reason why he did not attend the ceremony, so the presidency want to clear his name.

The presidency shouldn't have resorted to shadow chasing on this matter, the simple and logical way to counter baba's claim is to have presented the letter of invitation extended to him for everybody to see, if the evidence is glaring enough Baba will come of as a liar and if otherwise he has no question to answer. This is because if he chose to gate crash into such an important event and something unexpected happens to him who will take responsibility for such

Chasing Obasanjo is far from chasing shadows, Obasanjo still has loyalist in every party, judiciary, secuirity forces, International Power brokers even Boko haram leaders through the father of their founder, his fellow Ex Generals are all loyal to him... And Obasanjo is very very ready to deploy that Arsenal against Buhari using Atiku/Obi as an excuse. Mistake of Buhari's camp to underrate what Obasanjo is cooking with his numerous traveling overseas and visits by elite would spell doom for Buhari and northerners. Obasanjo isnt affriad to use massacre to teach a bitter lesson, and quite frankly i believe only a trained general with knowledge of International Arms market can supply bandits / Herdsmen and Boko haram.... Even Jonathan couldnt purchase arms when he needed them so badly towards the end of his tenure

Your statement is quite farfetched, and overreaching... Even if Obj is guilty of all your assumptions (We both know it's quite unlikely), how does annihilating him make this last tenure any less likely to be as lacking as the first one?….

So, they are now done with Jonathan, and shifting blames to Obasanjo... Is this all they have to restore the already dead glory of this nation?.. You are guys are in big trouble in this country o.

People don't read before commenting.

I'm even more surprised about Momodu's stance.

The presidency claimed they gave OBJ an IV and was signed for by his PA, contrary to what OBJ said. The presidency then asked OBJ to say the real motive behind his being absent at the inauguration and stop saying he wasn't given an IV.

Is that too hard for people to understand. It is not like they are querying him or saying he has no freedom of association and movement.

The presidency needs not talk about it again

June 12 is gone and we have all moved on

Nobody cares about his real motive.

We both know the query has nothing to do with his attendance or not, but a challenge to his Personalty and Ego.

Sadly matters of National security isn't Black or White, if jonathan had taking his issues with Obasanjo and some Northern Elite seriously especially as regard who he and denziana issues Oil lisences to, maybe Jonathan would had just completed his second term completely irch free, since Buhari began terminating Oil bloc lease and attacking the elites, attacks had been intensified in his geopolitical zone. And Sultan of Sokoto who is an Obasanjo loyalist and a former military man seems to be complicit in all this

All diz people above don't understand Nigeria history.. Mbok how many democracy day event @ Alhaji Buhari attended as ex president...

Secondly, so are we saying we don't have rights of association again..
Naso some prominent Nigerians supported Abacha during his Tenure claiming he was good but now sees him as bad.

Baba Buhari didn't attended any of OBJ, Late Yar'dua, GEJ' inuguaration ceremonies....
