seunmsg:This idealogy of yours is completely flawed given that you ignored the basic fact that he is a fierce critic of both APC and PDP alike. Have you heard of the word " Modus-vivendi" Which means - an arrangement that helps people, groups, or countries work together peacefully even though they do not agree with each other? How about asking the civil servants who do not share some of the views of this government to resign from their duties? There's no genuine basis to justify APC's action in this matter except you wish to go wild by saying APC detest and despise the desire to work with people who show the slightest atom of integrity. No matter which government comes to power, it is only a fooool who will agree with them all round. And it is even more foooolish for any government to expect any reasonable person to agree with all of their principles and antecedents. |

OGHENAOGIE:Don't mind them. I wonder how people who must have been within the four walls of a tertiary institution could be going about with poor sense of comparison in terms of arguments. It's sad. I mean very sad! |

After reading Festus Adedayo's account of his aborted appointment, I have now realised how shameless some people can be. Few days after bashing the process that produced Ahmad Lawan as Senate president, our guy was already in Ahmad Lawan's office for interview as media spox. At his age and 'qualifications', he has to grovel before a man whose party and politics he consistently condemned. There are many opportunists like Festus who lurk around conflating their hustle with activism. I know of one 'young' presidential candidate in the last elections who is pushing his CV to a senior government official for job but will come on this platform and 'be forming woke.' Our man now says the reversal is a blessing in disguise as he will now be able concentrate on his law school. The fact that he was willing to forego his law school education (with just two months to graduate) in order to take an appointment with the 'devils' he condemned speaks volumes about his desperation for the new job. He must be in 'severe pain' now! I understand that the economy is harsh and I was reminded that people of Festus' age have school fees to pay and house rents to settle, together with many endless bills. But if you choose to take a career in government criticism, stay on your lane. You cannot condemn the devil in the morning and appear at his dining table in the evening. |

tunjilana:Fan of "Establishment" indeed. Where were you when he was working for former Gov. Nnamani of Anambra state (PDP) , as media aide? Where were you when he was working for former Gov. Ajimobi of Oyo State (APC), as media aide? Where were you when he was working for former Senate President Saraki, as media aide? Do you think he would be romancing the opposition of his bosses at any point in time ? The man is purely professional and not a politician. He does not need to be politically affiliated to any party. As a journalist, he has constitutional mandate to constructively criticize any arm of government as well as tiers of government in Nigeria. |

OGHENAOGIE:No wonder some said he was obviously backed by the presidency to become the SP because he would be easier to manipulate due to his indecisive characteristic. His action in this matter has obviously uphold those assertions. He will now feel the heat of the seat and come to realization that being the SP isn't as easy as it seems... It's a position which directly places someone's integrity and intellect on a public scale for all to see. At the end of this administration, it will be very difficult for him and APC e-rats to reconcile with their conscience for the misfortune they have caused this country. And that's if they still have their conscience intact. |

Two things are clear here: 1. Senator Lawan exposed himself as a weak man for withdrawing an appointment he voluntarily and personally made. I pity Nigeria for having such a weak man as the Senate President. 2. Festus Adedayo has himself to blame. He is a staunch critic of Buhari and he should not have accepted the appointment from Senator Lawan, knowing fully well that Lawan is now Buhari's house boy. His quest for appointment allowed him to be dragged in the mud. |

seunmsg:Typical idiot Nigerian. Continue to wallow in your stupidity. Why interview mitt Romney if the "inner caucus" were against mitt Romney. Think a little. You were not there and you don't live in the US. slowpoke!!! |
| Re: Festus Adedayo : The Festus They Thought They Could Pull Down by oduademonest: 11:39am On Jun 21, 2019 |
Ayed44:Smart people chang their minds all the time. New information came to light that Lawan didn't have when he hired him. Based on the new information, Festus Dodoyo's position became untenable, so he was fired. That does not make Ahmed Lawan weak. It shows that Ahmed Lawan is a cerebral person who believes in superior argument. Either way, Festus Dodoyo has moved on, you need to move on as well. As chief of staff to the Senate president, you are working for the Nigerian people. Every good Nigerian has an obligation to heed the call to serve the motherland when called. That is what Festus did. Stop taking things personal. This is not Festus vs Lawan or Festus vs Buhari. Remember, evil thrives when good people do nothing. You can only effect change from the inside. He did nothing wrong by accepting the offer. They don't feel that he is the right fit because of his criticism, no biggie. |

GoodGovernance:thanks for seeing through his pen-induced emotional bluff. this is a lesson for writers who are political commentators. the truth is: most of these guys, due to the mighty power of their pen, are used by politicians anytime. one thing they fail to realize is that they are already in the big game and loyalty is the key to survival. you write for saraki Wen it please you, write for Tinubu went it please you and you want to survive in politics? he is joking! he can write all his epistles to stimulate readers for all I care, am a writer and that's Wat we do which he is great at anyway, but he lost this one for real. and he lost for serving all sort of masters. you better change your ways sir! |

oduademonest:Lol... New information my foot! Lawan personally interviewed and hired Festus. He interviewed Festus and others and as an adult, he felt Festus was more qualified and he hired him. For ur information, Lawan actually succumbed to pressure, threat and blackmail. That shows he is vulnerable. |

APC is a huge curse on Nigeria. Very intolerant, black hearted animals. The senate president is spineless and stupid. He should have stood his ground. |
