I agree with you but I also feel making Grammy the biggest award is also bound by inferiority complex. People who vote for Grammy nominees are humans like you and I and don't have two heads. Every award is as valuable as Grammy to me we mustn't live by the standard of any body.

Unless the Grammys has been bastardized it’s known to bring out the best of the best in different genre of music. The respect for the Grammys wasn’t given it was earned and if u don’t respect that u don’t respect the craft.

I know you are referring to wizkid , with this post , firstly I want you to know that both Femi kuti and wizkid have only been nominees they've never won the Grammy's, it doesn't matter the category , and how many times , even if you make it to the final 23 times in football , you are not different from those who bounced out in the group stage !!!

I visited an European Restaurant in a small town recently and to my surprise, a local radio station played Lagbaja's music among others. I quickly announced to everyone at the restaurant that the music is Nigerian, not only African.

There is nothing 2 baba has done ( including having three baby mamas ) , that wizkid hasn't done , Wizkid has even taken everything a step further , the only Nigerian home and abroad, to top the billboard chart for more than 9 weeks , the only Nigerian home based to receive the BBma's award , the only African artist to feature on a song , that has almost 2 billion streams on Spotify , the first Nigerian artist to sell out the O2 arena , the only Nigerian to defeat legends like jay z , Kendrick and Migos to win int'l act of the year at the MOBO's , the only Nigerian artist to have more than 5 entries on the UK charts so far, ( One dance , Mamacita , Bad energy , Come closer , and the latest jam with Skepta ) ...
All this achievements are alien to 2 baba , he has none even when he was in his prime , he couldn't do what wizkid is doing now , African Queen is probably one of the best songs to come out of Africa , but in terms of digital sales and recognitions Ojuelegba edges it in all corners , 2 baba your legend that couldn't hold a protest , cos of threat from common DSS , Wizkid has helped artists and producers like L.A.X , Terri , Maleek berry , Mr eazi ,Shay dee , Legendury beats and more tell me which producer, or singer 2 baba has been able to bring , legends raise people and not just themselves....
2 baba is great and So is Wizkid , even 2 baba don sing yansh , fvck and bobbie too...

I think Grammys used to be about mostly record sales, image/music acceptance bt this digital age has messed up most of those ratings and turned things upside down and probably created room for all manners of conspiracy theories bt bt i agree there sm politics to it to sm extent.

Legends... I remember riding in a taxi cab in Sussex four years ago when I heard the familiar voice of the great Fela booming from the cars stereo. I felt very happy and well represented in the world.
