Ayo Adebanjo, a leader of Afenifere, the Yoruba socio-political organisation, has claimed that the number of Nigerians who have lost their lives under President Muhammadu Buhari was more than those who died during the civil war.

He said this while lamenting that Buhari was not sincere in his will to keep the country united.

Speaking with Tribune, Adebanjo enjoined Buhari to restructure the country because that remained the solution to killings across the country.

He said: “The number of people that have been killed under him is more than the number killed during the civil war; if Buhari really loves the country and is sincere about keeping the country together, he should restructure the country immediately. All these units in the federation should be autonomous enough to take care of security.

“I am Ayo Adebanjo. Everybody is entitled to his or her own opinion. What I am saying is that Buhari is the greatest civilian autocrat. Why? I am judging him by his actions. Will a democrat, in a democratic society, disobey court orders on two, three, four individuals? “Will a democrat, under the rule of law, invade judges’ quarters under the pretence that he wants to wipe out corruption? These are my reasons I don’t just label him. I call him a dictator by his actions and let people tell me that those actions are consistent with democratic principles. That’s all.
“Buhari is living in denial; we all know that. The whole world has been telling him that these people have been incompetent for the past four years that he has been there. That is not new; but he turned a blind eye.

over a million people were killed during civil war and under Buhari it's 25thousand. you're just a dumb wailer with no facts!

The killings during Obasanjo over implementation of Sharia was crazy. Under GEJ Boko Haram. Under PMB Boko Haram and..Death under a civil war is understood but since 1999 has there been a civil war that so much deaths?Our judicial system has failed us. Over Boko Haram who has been sentenced? Over the killings of Christian's left and right no one has been sentenced. How will the killing ever stop?

People should stop making rhetoric of civil war. That means millions of igbos that died were not Nigerians. Anyway. Nigeria still have over a million people to lose to boko haram and herdsmem up north and south west to equate those died during the war.
