700 billion is completely insufficient to rehabilitate and maintain Federal roads throughout Nigeria. We are not making enough money as a country. The condition of our roads reflect the productivity of Nigerians. We are too lazy, unproductive and ignorant to have decent infrastructure.
Really? How did u come 2 this conclusion?

we lazy reach Americans but why are they better than us and why do we do better when we travel out legally ? it's simply because they have a working system of governance that is binding i.e. the more hours you work the more bills you get!

I hope at least 90% of the roads are completed in the next 4 yrs. Roughly 800billion in 4 yrs translates to 200 billion naira per year. There might be a need to increase the yearly allocation and improved monitoring to get the jobs done. Most of the roads listed are work in progress to the best of my knowledge.

To the emboldened, I agree (that's why I have always suggested we fully commercialise all our federal roads . . . contract them out on PPP, let's pay the toll and enjoy good roads, peace and security at a price).

Government can go ahead and take care of state and local roads.

To the struck through part, that's incorrect and highly insensitive.

You guys should continue to deceive una selves. Lol, u think anyone can fix Nigeria ?

The only solution is total separation or at least, true federalism. All these ones we are doing is just to keep enriching small number of individuals. I just wish these herdsmen can begin to kidnap govt officials, u will see these leaders pass motion to separate the country..

Even if Trump rules us under this same system of govt, he can't do much..

A major problem with capital projects like these is lack of diligent follow up.

One needs to attend FEC meetings where some of these figures are being reeled out, after that meeting is done, no one does any follow up, no matters arising, nothing.

Ideally, there should be a massive tracking board in the FEC meeting room where all contracts above N5b are monitored & progress reports given weekly.

In the president's office, all contracts from N500m to N4.9b should be placed on a tracker board in his office.

In the VP's office, a tracker board showing contracts from N50m to N499m should be displayed...

This would ensure that those responsible for these major contracts are constantly reminded of the need to follow up on these projects & that they would be directly held accountable for failure to achieve targets...
to ensure its
