A South African mas has lost his bet after placing a R10,000 (N250,000) on Ghana to defeat Benin Republic in their Group F encounter at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON in Egypt.

In a screenshot of the bet slip posted on social media, the man took a full-time winning chance in Ghana's favour and he was supposed to win an extra R6,500 if the game had been won by Ghana.

Ghana however drew the game with the under-rated Benin Republic team. The game however  ended in a 2-2 full time draw.

Andre and Jordan Ayew were both on target as 10-man Ghana were forced to settle for the draw against Benin.

What did south Africa do to make their currency so strong in so short a time.
They are clearly not competing against the naira but rather dollars.
