It's called cryotherapy.
A normal routine for elite athletes. Some clubs have an ice chamber that is hermetically sealed for players to use. The temperature is reduced to as low as possible.
It's a super aid to recovery.

Swimming in ice cold water helps increase blood circulation, soothes body psins and reduces inflammation. I do it twice a year.

There are reasons some may not know:

1. Not everyone is into sports/fitness regiment. Nigerians only exercise when they want to loosen weight.
2. People don't read again. Too lazy or busy chasing the fleeting desires of life.
