80% of food we consume in the south comes from the North. Since the reason for migration of herdsmen to the South is grass, this should be a business opportunity and employment creation opportunity.

People in the south cut grass take it to a place where it is measured and they are paid by weight. Then it's preserved and transported same day to the North. By morning they have fresh grass for the cattle.

It's a win win situation.

But yoruba moslems no gree nah. They said RUGA will create jobs.

According to Deomelo calculation, SW alone will generate about 2.1 Trillion from RUGA.

Christian Ooni said no to RUGA while moslem Alaafin of Oyo went live to give tacit support to RUGA and even blamed Ndi Igbo for trying to cause disaffection between yorubas and fulanis.

I have never seen a king so stoopid.

Is SE grass the richest in the country? Borno alone can provides all the grass needed.

Let them keep their cows and cattles to themselves.. It is high time SE governors take cow business serious for her indigenes..

Knowledge is power
The fulani contribute 5 percent to our gdp
Beef is the only product we do not import into the country yet the large population eat meat everyday
Rather than applauding such group with there sustainability in the production of meat
If you are the president of this country which group will you support
The group that import virtually all product into the country including his native cloth. He does not contribute the gdp of the country

Thank you for always saying the truth. It is surprising because around 2015 we knew this handle to be a terror.

MB supply more food to the South than core North. Apart from beef, Onions, cucumber, carrot, cabbage I don't know anything the North supply to us.

Tomatoes are mostly from Jos, Yam comes from Benue and supply some of the white beans we eat like the North, we produce our Garri, we don't eat Northern rice, we farm ours, all vegatables we eat are produced in the East, yorubas produce their brown beans, we produce our palm oil and we are the largest supplier to the North, just like vegetables.

I don't know where potatoes come from but I know they produce that a lot in the North. We consume a lot of groundnut, both Benue and core North supply us with that.

Benue supply cassava to the core north because their soil doesn't support it and we also supply processed garri to the North though for Southerners in the North.

We eat a lot of Egusi, we grow some while Nasarawa supply the rest while Ogbono, we import them from Cameroun and grow some.

Beloved SW give us brown beans while beautiful SS gives us cray fish. We catch and process our bush meats while we import chicken and fish.

Mekaboy, be guided. North don't feed us unless you are including MB and of course, the south supply most of the palm oil they use.

What is life without palm oil.

At least we can grow every food we need in the South but they can't grow palm oil.

Maybe I am mistaking, but the number of trucks I see bringing food from the North in the east makes me believe 80% comes from there.

Maybe majority comes from middle belt I don't know. But I 70% of local rice produced in Nigeria is done in the North.

However I think we should turn this problem into opportunity like other countries do.

We can supply grass if that's the main reason for the conflict.

You will be making a fatal mistake if you think this is all about grass because it's not !!! Contrary to belief Fulanis don't love cow , the cows are only a means to fund the expansionism drive , they sell cows to fund a Jihad .please ask yourself if Fulanis really like their cattles like they claim why do the sell them to the highest bidder without batting an eyelid .. Today they have found another lucrative venture to fund their expansion wars and thats kidnapping .. Fulanis only want your land to be theirs and that's all... A Fulani man will never sell his AK 47 or sword but will sell his cow , this should give you and insight to who you are dealing with and what the real agenda is

staple food in the south: Garri, akpu, starch ,plantain, cocoyam, maize, and den we have rice ,mostly brought in from Lagos borders, but some are farmed here in Nigeria,..and then beans ,yams and groundnuts mostly from north... But a considerable amount is also farmed here in the south. Then again, most of their seedlings, irrigation, fertilizers and even mechanised farming come subsidized by fg with resources majorly from the south. So yes u were right to question the 70 percent.. Should be more like 90 to 95 percent

The core North can be self sustaining when it comes to fodder for their herds. Let me cite Israel as an example, Kastina State landmass is bigger than Israel that's is a Country and about 60% of Israel is DESERT but their diary farms despite limited rainfall and high temperatures, they are one of the highest national average of milk production per cow in the world.

Let the owners of these cows, invest in infrastructure and human capital development, moving away from their nomadic way of cattle rearing as it doesn't make sense.

I have visited farms in Kenya where farmers are rearing about 100 cows within 2 plots of land and producing thousands of litres of milk daily and can be done anywhere in Nigeria!
