Well spoken. Funny enough Rochas didn't receive this kind of criticism on NL. From the post, they failed to realize that the action was prompted by NLC Imo state chapter and not the Governor. Or Perhaps, the Governor bribed them to make the allegations. Na wa. Ace16: 1 Like |

chidiebereuzoma:I think if your employment falls within the stated period (Jan 2018-Mar 2019), then you might be affected though I still think for people employed in 2017 are exempted. So check your employment date there lies your answer |

It's a good move from the governor Emeka Ihedioha , if appropriately done, but I read with keen interest on the article but there is no mention of retirement age and it's total resolve which is a major challenge among civil workforce. So the sanity should also address it. |

If the allegation from the Labour and the confirmation from the accountant general of the state is true, then things should be made right. If people on Level 14 from a particular zone were promoted ahead of the people on Level 16 from another zone, who really merited to be promoted, then its wrong and criminal also. For me, its not hatred for a zone, rather, correction of injustice to Imolites. I think there are needs for correction of wrongs as one can can't build a lasting structure on a faulty foundation. #istandwithihedioha #goodgovernance #ruleoflaw |

There has been reports where pdp, debunked such claims, false rumors peddled by the past apc govt. Below is a statement from the pdp imo state. IMO PDP ANTI-FAKE NEWS SITUATION ROOM, PRESS RELEASE 07/07/2019 STOP FAKE NEWS RE: GOVERNOR IHEDIOHA SACKS 10,000 IMO CIVIL SERVANTS Our attention has been drawn to the wide spread publication in various social media platforms, especially by the Agburu Chief Propagandist Onwuasoanya Fcc Jones, alleging that the Governor of Imo Sate, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha has sacked Imo Civil Servants numbering 10,000. The account is false, fabricated and of no substance. We are aware of the report by the Guardian Online media correspondent who reported that Governor Ihedioha had ordered the stoppage of payment of salaries to all those illegally recruited into the Imo State Civil Service from January, 2019. We wish to inform all Imolites, that anybody who got his job genuinely via a general recruitment exercise by previous governments, or those who were recruited into the Imo State Civil Service via a valid government approval or waiver for same, have nothing to fear about. What is going on is a routine civil service exercise, to fish out those who were illegally added into the Imo State civil service, without due process and compliance with the civil service rules. We are also aware that the out gone Rochas Okorocha administration conducted only one public recruitment exercise and that was in 2017. Those who went through the open recruitment exercise and were validly recruited after their names were duly published by the relevant Commissions, have nothing to fear. The truth is that the Ihedioha administration has been inundated by reports from Imo State Civil Servants, who reported that the previous administration illegally inserted names of their relations and acquaintances into the Imo state Civil Service, without regards to laid down procedures. The illegal recruitments they said got worst after the 11th March, 2019 INEC declaration of result for Imo Governorship elections. Most of those illegally recruited were backdated to even 2017 May/June, the last time Imo State Government conducted recruitment exercise, while their names were there for just few months ago during the transition period. Shocking, while the government was in transition, new staff continued to appear in government offices claiming they were newly recruited and yet employment dates backdated. Even some criminally minded elements in the recently dissolved Civil Service Commission and the Local Government Service Commission leadership were reported to be collecting monies to the tune of N300,000 to sell illegal jobs to unsuspecting and hapless Imolites, all within days to the end of the previous administration. Like the saying in law, illegality begets illegality. You cannot put something on nothing and want it to stand. His Excellency Governor Emeka Ihedioha has not cancelled the recruitment of staff genuinely recruited by the Imo State Local Government Service Commission and the Civil Service Commission under his predecessor. What has come under scrutiny are those “illegally recruited” from the back door. Recall also that in his avowed respect for the Rule of Law and due process, His Excellency, Governor Emeka Ihedioha CON on the 6th day of June, 2019, did set up a Committee to Review Appointments, Recruitments, etc in line with the Resolution of the Imo State House of Assembly. The Chairman of the Committee was Mr. Okey Anyanwu, while other members of the committee include; Mr. Chukwuma Nwachukwu, Mrs. Ngozi Onyirioha, Mr. Chima Nmeregini, Mr. Bismark Eziriohu, Mr. Justin Amafili, Mr. Donatus One. The committee is charged with the following; 1. To evaluate the recent appointments of Head of Service, Permanent Secretaries, Solicitor General, Accountant-General, and Heads of Extra-Ministerial Departments. 2. To examine all staff recruitment, command promotions, transfers and secondments of officers without following due process – from 2015 to date, applying the Public Service Rules and Regulations. 3. To review all extensions of service period of retired officers and contract appointments. 4. To investigate cases of officers who were unduly suspended or retired – from 2015 to date. No responsible government can tolerate illegality no matter the guise. It is necessary to state here that while former Governor Rochas Okorocha unilaterally cancelled and sacked those genuinely recruited through the Imo 10,000 jobs recruitment exercise conducted by his predecessor. Governor Ihedioha has refused to sack those who were duly recruited by an open approved recruitment exercise in 2017, even under his predecessor (Rochas Okorocha). Like the Governor stated on the day he swore in the committee on the 07/06/2019, nobody whose recruitment, promotion etc were regularly done by the Local Government Service Commission and the Civil Service Commission would be witch-hunted. Governor Ihedioha is a law abiding Governor, who follows due process in all he does. Please ignore the propaganda by the Agburu Ashi. Only the guilty should be afraid. Kissinger Ikeokwu Esq.
