El-rufai Comments On Dangote’s Wealth Misinformation- Fani Kayode Reacts by mysidechick(op): 3:16pm On Jul 09, 2019
Making rounds on social media, on Twitter to be specific is a tweet by Former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani Kayode reacting to a statement by Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir Ahmad El-rufai.

In a news report by Daily Post on the 7th of July 2019, Governor El-rufai was cited speaking at the Northern Youth summit organised by Northern Hibiscus Initiative in Kaduna;
“We have the largest number of poor people in the world, most of them in northern Nigeria. Nigeria also has the largest number of out-of-school children, virtually all of them in Northern Nigeria.

“Northern Nigeria has become the centre of drug abuse, gender violence, banditry, kidnapping and terrorism. We have also been associated with a high divorce rate and breakdown of families. These are the challenges that confront us. This is the naked truth that we have to tell ourselves.

“We must, therefore, as leaders at all levels have a conversation about the way forward for our part of the country. Because increasingly, as many of you must have seen on social media, we are being considered as the parasite of the federal economy, even though, that is not entirely true. Because northern Nigeria still feeds the nation. The richest businessman in Nigeria is still Aliko Dangote, not someone from southern Nigeria, thank God for that”

Reacting to the statements by the Governor, Femi-Fani Kayode took a fraction of the Governor El-rufai’s speech, which says;

“The richest businessman in Nigeria is still Aliko Dangote, not someone from southern Nigeria, thank God for that”

and tweeted;

“Any southern businessman that received the kind of support that Dangote received from FG’s over the last 40 yrs would be the richest man in the WORLD today.”

FFK just hit the nail right, he has said the unclad truth, for many years dangote has enjoyed favouritism from the government while many southerners have been made to go through thick and thin just for their business to grow, mike adenuga is a perfect example of that, before he could start GLO he went through several bans and heavy tariffs but today he is almost as rich as dangote.

What about the dashing of oil wells to northerners even though that oil is found in the south.

In the last 20 years, who were the presidents that gave Dangote unfair advantage over other businessmen?

Obasanjo ruled for 8 years and Jonathan ruled for close to 6 years. Jointly, the south had ruled for over 13 of the last 20 years. So, why did southern presidents fail to give unfair advantage to southern businessmen?

But FFK said is the fact.
Just that in Nigeria anything goes and people don't like delving into issues deeply or trying to trace the sources of the very rich,once they make it,to avoid being accused of beefing or "badbelleism",but Dangote has become this rich because of the special favors he has received from various FGs.
He is relatively good as a businessman however because he has made optimum use of the special favors and waivers gotten for several years.

It was even Obasanjo that gave Dangote a near monopoly in the importation of cement when he suspended the license of Ibeto to import same not until late Yar'adua reinstated it back.
People would always blame northerners but will always forget the role southerners played in undermining their own.

It was only Yaradua, God bless his soul, that even tried all other Presidents from Obasanjo to Buhari really made it hard for Ibeto to flourish.

For this one, FFK is totally on point.

I beg to strongly differ on what FFK is saying.
How do we measure what the FG lead by OBJ(a southern who ruled for 8 years) and GEJ(anither Southerner who rule of 5 years and some months) could favour a notherner over many southerners who could have gotten rich also if they had these so called waivers (I am not saying they are entirely false) and was given unfair advantage.

Sometimes we just speak from a subjective position and think we are making sense.
Right from time immemorial before Nigeria was amalgamated the northerners were known business men ,they made money from. buying an selling not what some of you tend to believe.

Northern Nigerians are the richest people in Nigeria for obvious reasons. My disgust is that they cart away Nigeria's wealth to UAE to invest in thereby denying their people immediate benefits from their loots.

Come down south and narrow it down further to SE, you find an entire community responsible for their own electricity, roads, schools, hospitals etc.

You didn't make any sense in what you wrote here.
