I have a budget of N500,000 and i need a car with good fuel economy, strong body and engine, affordable spare parts and easy maintenance. Can anyone recommend any such car (Nigerian used)? Pls help a friend make a choice. Thanks in anticipation.

I'll advice you to stick strictly to a well driven Toyota or Honda product, but then your budget is a bit low, if you get lucky, you might find someone in distress. don't go near golf 3 or 4 please. before you start crying us a river.

Not so just make sure u go for 2.5t 5 cylinder engine . the xc90 with 2.9l t6 is the one with gear problem.

Some advicers above are ignorantly saying don’t go near a golf 3 � but hear this now. With your budget, golf 3 is likely the only reliable car u can get. My first car was a golf 3, 1.8 engine. My second car was a 2003 Honda Civic. Comparing both, I’d pick golf 3 any day. D civic had electrical issues till I angrily sold it, whiles with d golf 3, I only visited my mechanic every 3 months for oil change and minor repairs.

Why do u think cab operators use it mostly? Food for thought. That’s because of its rugedity.

If you’re in Lagos, just go to Iyana Itire and make your choice from many. I guarantee u won’t regret it as your first car.
