The world most wanted drug lord, Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman, has been sentenced to life in prison plus 30 years.

According to the US Attorneys for the Eastern District of New York, a federal judge also ordered “El Chapo” to pay $12.6 Billion in forfeiture.

Adding that restitution will be determined later.

Before today’s sentencing, attorney Mariel Colon, who has visited Guzman regularly in prison before, during and after his trial said she is optimistic about his chances on appeal.

While reacting to the sentence today in Brooklyn, New York, federal court, the drug kingpin, El Chapo said “there was no justice here.”

Life in prison plus 30yrs, that's hilarious! Like when he's dead, his spirit will serve the remaining 30yrs before going to hell.

They just want to make sure he never gets out!
Thank God he would be spending it in an American prison! Atleast he would actually serve his oruson term!
But hw does the US govt plan to get hold of the $12bn forfeiture?

there are probabilities that he might still escape from jail again, he has twice Escaped from prison and even in prison he would still be the overall drug lord of an empire that stretches from mexico to Panama.

He is going to a Supermax prison, probably in Colorado. No escape from there unless there is a zombie apocalypse.

as long as El Chapo is alive expect the unexpected, men can die for him even prison warders.

Shameful and double standard justice .
The guy is being persecuted because he is a Hispanic or a Latino with a profitable billion -dollar business .
Had he been a White blue - eyed he would be praised.

he was even arrested in mexico and the US compelled the Mexican authority to extradite him to the US, that's a violation of his constitutional right.
