Anambra Wins ANCOPPS Schools Academic Competition Anambra State has continued to record excellent performances in education. With the outstanding feat of Anambra Golden Girls and Bronze Boys still fresh in the memory, the state has again received news of the great performance of its students in a recent national competition conducted by the All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS) in Sokoto, Sokoto State. Anambra State participated in the 8th July, 2019, National Congress of ANCOPSS during which a national competition for students was conducted. Students from Anambra State emerged first and third in the junior and senior categories respectively. The student from Queen of the Rosary College (QRC) Onitsha, Miss Ikwelugo Chiamaka Favour, came first in the quiz competition (junior category) while the student from Maria Regina Model Comprehensive Secondary School, Nnewi, Miss Obaa Mary Queen, came third in Essay writing in the senior category. The excellent performances of Anambra State students are a reflection of the dedication and quality investment in education by the Willie Obiano led Anambra State Government. The feat of the young school girls from Regina Pacie Model Secondary School, Onitsha, remains a testament to this. Their success reverberated all over the world when in August 19, 2018, they shocked students from technologically advanced nations to clinch the gold in the world Technovation challenge at Silicon Valley, earning themselves accolades and the deserving sobriquet, ‘Golden Girls’. In a like manner, students of St John’s Secondary School, Alor, made the state proud when they took the third position in an international school debate hosted in Tunisia, March 21st to 29th, 2019. Like the golden girls, they also became popularly known as the ‘Bronze Boys’. Back in 2017, students of Loretto Special Science School, Adazi, won the first prize in the senior secondary category of the national performance assessment conducted by the Federal Ministry of Education while Queen of the Rosary Secondary School, Onitsha won the the first prize in the junior secondary category. Anambra’s feat in education is not a fluke but a result of detailed and structured plan to sustain an academic standard that will encourage healthy competition among students and also prepare them sufficiently to compete anywhere in the world. The standards are firmly supported by a class of sound, qualified and well motivated professionals who serve as administrators, teachers, counselors and mentors to the students. The provision of adequate equipment and conducive environment for learning by the Anambra state government and the prompt payment of teachers which has not failed even once for the past five years, serves as the catalyst that engenders the academic excellence that the state has become known for. The incentives and welfare packages, unsolicited for, but provided by the state government to support, assist and motivate the teachers, spurs them to give nothing but their best. This yielded more laurels to the state when Mr. Clement Okolo, a teacher at Central School, Abagana, won the first prize in the teacher’s category of the national performance assessment conducted by the Federal Ministry of Education in 2017. Anambra yet clinched the first and fourth positions in 2018 during the assessment of school administrators by the Ministry. Amala Ezenwa of Awada Primary School 4, emerged the overall best while Vera Uju Ikegwuani of Anglican Girls Secondary School, Onitsha, came fourth. What is more, Anambra clearly distinguished itself as the academic torchbearer of the nation when it became the first state to win the annual President’s school debate competition consecutively for four years. The state had won the competition three years in a row and when it hosted the annual debate challenge in December, 2018, it made sure to win resoundingly and for the fourth consecutive year, the President’s Cup; beating Benue state four points to one. The provision of quality education and empowerment of students and youths for a stable and viable future remains one of the top priorities of the Willie Obiano administration. The mission is to be the shining light as Anambra remains on top in the Nation. https://pmexpressng.com/anambra-wins-ancopps-schools-academic-competition/

| Re: Update on developments in Anambra state-photos by Cjrane2: 1:30am On Jul 20, 2019 |
Problemkid1:The problem with Anambra is being allergic to dual carriage roads. Every road must be built tiny and very narrow in Anambra. Even when other states are unable to build dual carriage rightaway, they reserve the space so the roads can be expanded into dual carriage roads in the future. Reserving space for future road expansion does not even cross the minds of successive governors in Anambra |

Shut up this hopeless vagabond, you know nothing about Anambra. Face your backward Delta state despite the huge oil and gas revenue. Asaba your state capital is still a village inspite of all the big federal allocation. All you do is to always come online to spew rubbish.. People without information should desist from coming to this thread or be ready to face me. This is the biggest inner-city road in the whole of SE and it is located in Awka. Open a thread for once about your useless Delta state, don't you ever want to track development in your home state Cjrane? Why are you more interested in others than yourself? Anytime threads about your Delta state comes up on home page, you always dodge it. But once it is about SE, you jump on it to feast as if it is possible to love others before loving yourself. I have been saying it and will keep saying it. There's nothing developed or beautiful about Enugu. The video you posted is still the same road leading to Enugu government house. Enugu is still a rural area when you realize that Enugu has been developing for almost 100yrs still yet it is still a dungeon. Cities like PH, Kano, Calabar are age mates of Enugu, but you dare not compare them to the shithole called Enugu because that will be a disaster. While Ph and Kano have all moved to become economic hubs/giants and Calabar that has metamorphosed into a tourism hub of Nigeria, but Enugu is still going in circles with nothing else to its name except being another town somewhere. Cities are marked for something, Enugu has no selling point because it has nothing else to its name except being a civil servant's town filled with poor people. Enugu should have grown to become the superpower of the old Eastern region if we consider that as at the time airport was built in Enugu, places like Ph and Calabar have no airports. But today not only that PH has a world-class international airport but Enugu village unmaintained airport is about to be shut down. You may argue that Enugu airport should be improved as well, but how can you be wasting money on an airport that is economically unviable. Even little known airport in Imo has more traffic than the one in Enugu. Even Awka that was created about 2 decades ago is now the fastest developing city in Nigeria with beautiful infrastructures that mark a city in the 21st century. Check the dates of the video. Overall, Anambra has the best road networks in the whole of the SE region, at least that am very sure. There's no part of SE that has this sort of rural roads with even streetlights. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vQBR4acuZKs |

This is how to know a progressive state- exporting agricultural produce to Europe even when it's airport is still under construction. The ones that already have airports doesn't even know what to do with it. That's the difference between Anambra and others. We lead. lol https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tY1afei-8gw |

Anambra Broadcasting Service (ABS) is the best TV broadcasting station in whole of SE. The quality of their production and content have attracted PAYTV companies like Startimes and Metrodigital to be airing ABS channel on their platforms. In few weeks to come DSTV will enlist it too, which means you can watch ABS anywhere in the world via DSTV. Just negodi the beautiful world-class studio of ABS. Anambra leads

AuntLaVIV:Good job. Before now these same vagabonds made it look like having cinema was such a big deal because then we were yet to setup in our state. Now we even have two cinemas(Onitsha and Awka) the highest number in the SE so far. Now they are no longer making noise about cinema. Surprisingly the idiots stopped making cinema an issue. |

[s] somalianprince: Mad dog! ![]() First of all, you are not from Anambra, so stop trying because nobody is deceived. Secondly, anyone who has been to Asaba knows the dual carriage roads in Asaba alone, not to mention Warri is more than all in Awka, Onitsha and your Igala area combined. Compare the videos below. Everyone here knows that i speak the truth as it is. Anambra MUST begin to have dual carriage roads if we must build a modern space. You can tell all the lies you like about Delta and pump up your silly igala ego, it does not change the facts that more dual carriage roads are needed inside Anambra cities. No matter how many times you post the expressway, you already know the truth that we need many dual carriage roads in Onitsha and Awka to make them standard cities like Enugu or Abakaliki or Owerri. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LU4oPRi_khw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xOX1y0M3XL4&t=8s https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PunMMNE2buk&t=41s
