Shiites Protest: Presidency commends Police Force for exercising Restraint by Elchicolo: 9:15am On Jul 23, 2019
The Presidency on Tuesday commended the Nigerian Police for exercising restraint and professionalism during Monday’s violent confrontation with members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN).

Femi Adesina, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity who spoke on Channels television said the police used live bullets when the protesters began to shoot which led to the death of a Deputy Commissioner of Police and others.

“People didn’t die in one year of the protest. Then, the protesters were peaceful and the police even provided cover for them. But who escalated to the level of violence and mayhem? It is the protesters”.

“If the police had responded according to the level of violence, we would have been talking of rivers of blood and I want to personally commend the police”

” The situation has been handled well until we had the violence protest by the Shiites members”.

Femi reminds us of Remi Oyo....

He will soon start writing letters when he is no more enjoying the cozy office at "Aso".

I remember when all these started. When the army went to the homes of these people and gunned down unarmed men, their wives and their children at night. Nigerians cheered. They hailed the government. When these guys were protesting peacefully for the release of their leader, nobody lent them a voice, Nigerians condemned them for constituting a nuisance. They have written several letters to amnesty international for them to intervene but they turned a blind eye, after all they are Muslims and by extension, they are terrorists. Now their protests have grown louder and citizens have begin to feel the heat. Every one is beginning to speak out. The same political opportunists that cheered the government's crackdown on them are now beginning to blame the president.

Now the government has been pushed to the wall. If they release Zakzaky now, it will be a victory for the Shiite guys and every other group will learn that weapons can make the government bend to your will. If they don't, more guns will come in and another security crisis will set in Believe me those guys can lock down Asokoro and nobody will come out. Furthermore, the government will get international condemnations from everyone.
My advice is that the NSA should be sacked, one because he has been an ass, and 2 because it will save face of the government from shame when they release the shiite leader.

Femi is a disgrace, he commend them when five shias died and many injured, reason why their peaceful protests changed recently is cos they suspect their leader has been killed idiot, tell Bubu to release him just to prove everyone wrong.

Sometimes I really do feel for the police and other security operatives.

People generally expect them to use tear gas and rubber bullets in combating protesters with stones, knives, guns and live ammunition.

In Nigeria people also generally consider blocking of roads, beating of citizens and burning of cars and houses as part of peaceful protests.

Finally I wonder how dangerous the Shites' leader really is, for Buhari to have obviously decided to keep him locked away for the entire tenure.

Buhari needs to obey whatever the court declares on El Zaki.

Nothing we no go hear under this dullard. Exercising restraint indeed!

For those that foisted this animalistic jihadist on Nigeria in 2015, and helped rig him back in 2019, your turn to experience the full scale carnage is coming.

Madness!

After shooting at and killing a substantial number of people, the only thing that the Presidency can say is that they DESERVE COMMENDATIONS?.

These are the utterances of a government that does not value human lives.

now it is too late to release him , releasing him now will show the governmrnt as been weak, if the fg had released him before all these violennt protest then they could have said they did it for peace sake . sadly now , we just have to watch as this violence gets more and more bloody
