The terrible state of Federal roads in the Eastern states is no more news, but more worrisome is the renewed activities of touts and criminal elements operating under d guise of revenue collectors for the state.... Now such high level extortion & crazy gigantic pot holes along owerri road, plague other road users. We seriously need these thieves off our roads. RED SPOTS: I. HEAD BRIDGE, just after d mobile police (CTU) Check point, some touts wielding dangerous clubs and destroying vehicles all in the name of collecting monies for our state govt. Attacking the vehicle driver who is on motion and therefore putting the lives of other road users and other people in danger. Ii, UPPER IWEKA, THE BRIDGE ENDS: Both ends of d bridge are mounted by these same holigans. Extorting and attacking drivers of cargo vehicles i.e Light trucks to heavy trucks forcing them to pay sums ranging from N5,000 - N15,000. Your Excellency it is worthy to mention that the nusiance caused by this criminal elements who where disbanded years ago by previous administration for this very reasons, have caused the death of several people like we saw today at Upper Iweka owerri road axis. Please save us from these touts again. Finally help us make the roads motorable again, by filling these potholes. Tanx |
