Senator Ben Murray Bruce has announced on his twitter page that his Company Silverbird Group is going green and will be patronizing electric cars.

The former Senator representing Bayelsa East constituency posted on his Twitter Page that Silverbird Company will be buying only Electric cars henceforth and that he has given a company-wide directive to that effect.

His Twitter Post goes as thus; “I have just given a company-wide directive that all new vehicles purchased on behalf of Silverbird Group will be electric vehicles. We are going to be the first company to go all green. Also, we will not issue any car-loan to any staff except they want to buy an electric car.”

I will keep playing my roll in urging Nigerians to be wise and calling out their foolishness, amongst other things.

I didn’t claim to “know book” more than the next man, but damn it, must Nigerians be so void of critical thinking?

They support the worst leaders, shun great ideas and are allergic to positive change.

It takes just about 600watts on the low end to charge an electric car, a load that can be present while your gen is on, or be placed on solar panels. It can be charged at work, or at home or anywhere with a socket and is more efficient than I.C.E cars by several magnitudes.

However look at all the responses, not even one person can embrace a future idea, it’s just sad.

Stop telling lies. How are electric cars easier to make in Nigeria? Are all the components for manufacturing it locally, readily available? Even to get the battery alone or replace it, will be a big problem.

Ordinary batteries for hybrid cars already cost an arm and a leg, down here. And you are now talking about electric cars, that our mechanics and rewires do not have the expertise to maintain. Abeg, swerve....
