That road should be at least 10 lanes (5 lanes on both sides) with flyovers. all this patch today and tomorrow wont cut it in my opinion.

Don't mind this Autojosh or whatever he's called.

The Lagos Ibadan expressway connects two states and 50% of that road belongs to Ogun State and 40% Oyo State. Lagos has about 10% stake.

It is a Federal Government project. LASG is just supporting to plan alternative routes.

LASG is not the one closing the road.

Same way Autojosh described Emirates Airline as Fly Emirates.
lol

Did you read this part?
" The Permanent Secretary, State Ministry of Transportation, Dr. Taiwo Olufemi Salaam, who disclosed this yesterday at Ikeja, stated that in the project brief made available to the State Government, the repair works will narrow both Lagos and Sagamu bound traffic into two lanes on both carriageways respectively and is planned for two months each for inward and outward traffic from the State."
This doesn't imply Lagos state government is the one closing the road, they only planning towards attendant traffic this will cause and staying their readiness for it...

You quoting me and stating what I already asserted is amusing.

The Auto of the thread is known for misinformation.

He created a thread to claim Sanwo Olu has approved 100% 'salary' increment for LASTMA official, whereas the news was that he approved 100% allowance increment, not Salary. LASG is not even paying N18,000 minimum way dating back to Tinubu's regime, Fashola, Ambode, Is it now Sanwo Olu that would approve 100% salary increment?

Autojosh once claimed there's an airline called 'Fly Emirates Airline' Whereas, what I know and having flown on Emirates many times and would be flying them to Auckland next month, their name is Emirates Airline, not 'Fly Emirates Airline'

This time he claimed LASG wants to close a highway that connects 3 states, which is false. The project is a Federal government project that started since GEJ's regime in 2013/2014. LASG is only trying to assist, cos most people on that axis work in Lagos, but live in Arepo, Mowe, Asese etc.

Review the post you're quoting again and this time, carefully

Autojosh does not do proper research work before put up rubbish.

1.The project is not a repair work, but the on going reconstruction of Lagos Ibadan Expressway
2. The closure is by Federal Government
3. The Project is by Federal Government
4. It is not a total closure, but partial lane closures as it is currently being done.

One would hope that before embarking on this job that the roads that will help assuage the traffic nightmare would have been put in place first:

1. First, the State road artery from Epe through ijebu ode would have been done. Graded at least to ensure drive able condition of no less than 60-80km speed.

2. Negotiate with Ogun government for grading the Ijebu Ode-Ijebu Ode Axis.

3. Shagamu -Ota axis to be made motorable to allow emptying traffic which otherwise would go through berger.

4. Creating ample lane with tarred path for motorist as against closing one section and all motorist to manage one lane.

In addition to these, well equipped tow trucks, FRSC and LASMA should be available 24/7 to help with impasse and ensure no stopping at these affected places.

The topic title was just edited recently after the criticism.

Just say what you know
The first title was LASG to CLOSE Lagos Ibadan expressway for 4 months.
