After being held up in hours-long traffic gridlock, you get to the end of the traffic queue, only to find no reason for the traffic hold up. Many Lagosians can relate to this.

Well, most times there is actually a reason for these hold-ups. They are usually caused by illegal parking or stopping on the roads by some motorists.

Illegal parking or stopping on a busy road can significantly narrow the access on the roads and prevent access by other vehicles behind.

The chief culprits of this sort of practice are commercial motorists, especially danfos.

Sadly, the traffic agencies responsible for regulating vehicular activities, are either compromised by these errant drivers or they are too lenient in the regulation.

Danfo drivers are a menace to the society

I Hate Lagos cos of this , it's a place i would have love to stay cos of the hustle n bustle , but people n criminals too plenty

@Autojosh, I slightly disagree. Based on what you just explained above,I still can see whats causing the traffic, other things could even be flooded road, potholes etc. There r situations where you don't even see it at all, meanwhile culprits are the impatient drivers, this mostly happens in situations where a three lane road, for instance, narrows into two lanes etc and the drivers r not willing to be on a two lane file.

Lagos is so overpopulated that any investment you make seems like a drop in the ocean. Lagos as a megacity needs about $5 billion annually to meet its infrastructural needs.
