Suhaila Zakzaky, daughter of the leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), Ibrahim El-Zakzaky, has revealed her fears for his father’s life whom she says is suffering from lead poisoning.

Suhaila said in an interview that the poisoning may be from shrapnel when her father was shot in 2015.

“I am really worried… especially because of the lead and cadmium poisoning,” she said.

“His doctors say if he gets to a certain level his organs could start failing and that’s really scary because that means he could just die at any moment.”

El-Zakzaky, who arrived at Medanta Hospital, New Delhi, India on Tuesday, alleged “pathetic and worrisome” situation in an audio message made public on Wednesday.

He said the Federal Government had frustrated his treatment in India.

He complained about the tight security he was subjected to which he described as “worse than a prison setting”.

“Contrary to what was agreed before our arrival, that our own personal doctors would supervise this treatment. Now they’ve changed the arrangement. So, we objected receiving treatment from strange doctors without the supervision of our own trusted physicians,” El-Zakzaky had said.

The Federal Government, however, replied that the IMN leader was up to something, saying he was making unreasonable demands, including wanting to check into a 5-star hotel.

The IMN leader and his wife have been in detention since their arrest in December 2015 after violence that saw the army kill some 350 of his followers, Igbere TV reports.

Many ppl esp those down south really don't (and never will) understand the reasons why the govt has taken these Shiites seriously.
Anyone who lives in the north esp within the axis of Kaduna, Esp Zaria, Kano and Katsina will know what nuisance they've always posed.
If none of you know, any diplomat from Iran coming to Nigeria first goes to Zaria to greet El-Zakzaky before proceeding to register his presence at Aso rock, that is a serious breach of protocols and has been tolerated for only God knows how long.
The issue with the military in 2015 was d straw that broke the camels back.
That's why the majority of Northerners that are protesting are their fellow Shiites.
There are other Islamic sects in the north but there's a need to curb excesses of this one.
Boko Haram since the days of Mohammed Kabiru was warned by several clerics, some of whom were murdered coz they spoke against their extremist views.
I'm glad their luxurious demands is now proof that they've always had a hidden motive.
