somehow:
We are recording enough points and conceding less but we are struggling behind the arc.

Can the coach work on our 3 pointers? To take on the world, you must know how to hit from the arc in case you meet a better defensive side.
I’ve noticed the same thing. The team surely needs to improve on its 3-point shooting, free throw conversions, and the shots outside the paint.

The Malians and Senegalese would watch our previous games and decide to defend the paint vigorously, which would frustrate D’Tigress. I expected Macaulay to be one of the best 3-point shooters, but she hasn’t really delivered.

Maybe the coach and the NBBF need to scout more Nigerian-Americans who play regularly in NCAA tournaments and/or the WNBA, who can shoot more accurately beyond the arc and are 6’3” or taller.

D’Tigress are now on a 12-0 run in Afrobasket matches, stretching back to their win over Angola in the 2015 bronze medal match.

FT: Mozambique 80-66 Egypt.

Mozambique are the second team to advance to the semifinals and book a ticket to the Olympic pre-qualifying tournament.

Fun facts:

Both Nigeria and Senegal have the most number of players who are 6ft or taller - eight players, each on both teams.

Standing at an impressive 6’6”, Maimouna Diarra of Senegal is the tallest player at this tournament.

Nigeria are the only team that has won all 12 quarters in this tournament shocked

That might be a repeat of the last tournament final where we narrowly escaped with 47-48 points win over the Malians.

I think Malians have really improved over time and this improvement also extend to their male team. There is obviously something they are doing right..

Looking at the statistics, the Malians are better with their 3-point shooting and free-throw conversions. In fact, the Malians have converted 76% of the free throws!!.
D’Tigress need to keep to the barest minimum, the fouls they commit in the paint.
