D’Tigress have now won 13 straight Afrobasket matches, and 19 consecutive quarters in the tournament stretching back to the last three quarters of the 2017 final v. Senegal.

She is an integral part of the team, more so probably the most valuable in the last two games, but I don't think she is taking over as the most valuable player. They are not playing through the post, where Akhator plays from. Probably cos, she is constantly double-teamed or the coach is trying other options just incase she is off. Nonetheless, Akhator was massive once again with 13 rebounds, of which about half were offensive, which translates to second-chance points. She was the most efficient player, you could see she was efficient from the field as well although she only had 6 attempts.

FIBA Africa has conducted the draws for the African Women Pre-Olympic qualifying tournament. The six teams were divided as follows:

Group A: Nigeria, Mozambique, and Democratic Republic of Congo.

Group B: Senegal, Mali, and Angola.

The African Olympic prequalifying tournament will run from November 14-17 in a yet to be named host country.

The group winners will advance to the Women’s Olympic qualifying tournaments, of which there will be 12 teams divided into four separate groups, to be held in February 2020. The top 3 teams in each WOQT group qualify for the Olympics.
