Ladies and gentlemen our lesson of the day is fair hearing and liberty as enshrined under sections 35 & 36 of the Nigerian constitution 1999 (as amended).

We bring to the attention of this tribunal the extra judicial detention of a full fledged Nairalander and Nigerian citizen Threebear who was arrested and unceremoniously tossed into Ikoyi prisons for his exercise of his freedom of speech.

The question is, have our democracy being substituted with autocracy where a despot imposes his will on the masses without cogent and verifiable reasons?

Our submission is that Threebear in his capacity as a full fledged Nigerian citizen should not be made to undergo an unsanctioned prison term without fair hearing. Bail is a constitutionally guaranteed right particularly where there is no court of competent jurisdiction. (s)he must be freed at once.!!
