How many of them have ever played for the national team? If they haven't, then you can count them as national team players.

12 players make a team so you need 12x5 national team players to make up 5 first teams. That these names are Americans doesn't mean they are national team players.
Oga, this doesn't change the fact that these big name players aren't even in the team. Well na USA, they have a BBall legacy dating to the 50s so why am I even comparing sef?

Just telling you that there's nothing like 6th teams.

They only use available players and most of the big names aren't available for national duties (Guessing it has alot to do with their sponsorship and club contracts.

Yea I know and I imagine what it would look like if you had the members of the all NBA teams in the USA camp right now. It wouldn't even be fair. USA is just overpowered in BBall

I don't feel the USA will win the FIBA WC with their current team IMO. I'm thinking Spain or Greece

Meanwhile at the African games, the women team won gold after beating Mali 21-20 while the men team settled for bronze also beating Mali 20-19

Basketball at the African games is in the 3×3 format

The team looks much weaker than it was 10-15 years ago. Only threats are Campazzo and Scola (NBA experience). These guys are not push overs but they are much more beatable than they were in the past.

Not really, we'll cause them problems. It won't be business as usual.

Read your piece. It is a shame that financial issues always mars the performance of Nigerian Sports teams and it is a huge embarrassment.

I wonder the Joy our sport's officials have in always embarrassing us ehn??

In fact, I don't know whether it's a curse. I know someone is getting rich as a result of hoarding this money. I mean, this money is already in the year's budget, so why is it a problem now?

Sorry bro, I was banned. I actually meant Nigeria, not the USA.

Greece and Spain don't stand a chance bro. Spain has reduced in the number of known names, Serbia is very hot!
Greece is down in the pecking order, though good but can't reach the semis.

Nice article. But by now, each sport should have a sponsor. Haba. it's not like Basketball even play that regular compared to football and they have less players to travel with (Max of 12 players). They should work on getting sponsors from all the big names and organisations in Nigeria.

The league also needs visibility, followership in Nigeria is very low!

Can't wait...

The final roster looks formidable, and I’m especially excited that Jordan Nwora made the final cut!
Still maintaining that the team is good enough to make the quarterfinals, at the very least

Yea we should make the Qtrs

Nwora is our top man when it comes to 3pts

Cannot wait for the cup this weekend.

After a convincing PEAK tournament win and nearly missing the mundial due to a paucity of funds, our men will be fired up to stake their claim as a relevant team on the Nigerian national sports scene.

This has been our best team yet in history and many of the European basketball giants are a shadow of their former selves (except Serbia and Greece - Antetokoumpo factor).

I predict at least a quarterfinals finish by the Tigers.

Its hightime those employed to head sporting positions are made to resign if they cant get sponsors within one year of taking over as heads.
