In that match against Liverpool at Anfield, I can tell you if you watched it well Messi wasn't himself that day. He was one of the culprits that downed his team. Top scorer and assists in Liga, Top scorer in all of Europe, Top scorer in the Champions League, top scorer in the knockouts. He's performed brilliantly in both the League and the CL.
