Why would reasonable people leave an amazing county with beautiful weather, beautiful women and migrate to a country where you're not welcome and the weather is very naughty
I would rather remain in Nigeria and fight for my place!

I used to have this your believe before until the country started showing it's true color by getting worse everyday. Think outside the box, it's never about you alone, your family deserves better.

I admire your zeal but you have to understand that there should always be plan b for everything one does in life, the Nigerian environment don't always give rooms for plan b, even those working in offices aren't given plan B, they can not lose there jobs with the hope of getting another. Nigeria is a 'one chance' country. I wouldn't want to subject myself or future kids to that. It's way deeper bruh, try to see the bigger picture. It's not about you alone, your family too, they will have opportunities to be a lot of things out there in developed countries. Some Nigerian parents gave birth to athletes, therapists, doctors, lawyers, actors, sportsmen and more overseas because they relocated to a countries where dreams come true, you can too. Dream big bruh.

Even those traveling out should have plan B because it might not work out as you predict. You can still lose your job, get mugged and even failing in your business outside Nigeria.

I just finished reading this content on nairametrics. The truth remains that you don't necessarily have to leave this country to make it in life. Oh and the notion that there is no good jobs around is a big lie. There are lots of good high paying jobs around. The question is, have you built yourself to land these jobs. These are not the jobs you get with your basic BSC from most Nigerian Universities.

A lot of you waste your time here being tribalistic while forgetting to add value to your self. Oh, in case you don't know, all these tribal battles most of you engage in have turned this platform to a playground. Most people looking for serious people don't come here anymore. I was talking to an HR consultant days back and she was looking for peeps to fill in some job vacancies with take-home of 500k and above monthly. I suggested she check on nairaland. She simply told me you don't see such calibre of people on nairaland. That she comes here only when she's looking for people for unserious roles like drivers, admin assistants and similar low ass jobs.

Leave nairaland and go and build yourself for the future.

You just ended up stating the obvious truth to myriad's of unserious and unrepentant youths on this platform who wouldn't still change their unproductive mindset and start adding value to themselves.
Re: How Young Nigerians Are Investing To Leave The Country by okeniti: 3:38pm On Sep 06, 2019
IMHO: There's nothing wrong with leaving Nigeria for abroad IF you have a feasible plan (skilled professional, further education, business opportunities etc etc). IF you have no plan and are those going to "hustle" and believe in the "Naija no dey carry last, i'm so rugged I can survive anywhere" then you are simply just going to waste your time and money (there are a very few exceptions to the rule which won't be you probably). And for those marrying for papers your actions will come back to bite you.

Nigeria is tough, no doubt. But to say you can't have some quality of life unless you are "rich" here just is not true.

If the recent events of happenings to Nigerians in Diaspora is not a loud enough alarm to tell you we need to make Nigeria work for us, then you are lost.

We live in a world of skills and certifications and not university degrees. Eg, have you heard of cloud computing before now? It is a tech skill and most people in the field earn at least 500k and above. Combine tech skill with management skills and you will be a hot cake. Go acquire hardcore tech skills and certifications. There are plenty of them out there.

Kindly list the hard-core tech skills Cox I'm interested in one or two

I have and can still do it again.
Nigerians may not like them but we need to learn some business arithmetic from the igbos. While some of us are seeing limitations in 3 million, a business minded igbo man is see unlimited opportunities... 3 million is more than enough to make it big in Nigeria. All you need is vision, sacrifice and determination to succeed no matter what. It will not be easy but very much possible.
The reason those Igbo guys make it with little capital is because they already have the network in their area of business. Imagine a guy whose main boss is an importer of a good product. All he needs is a store space to sell those products on commission bases.
I will give one example. Do you know Orange Drugs Company? Well, majority of the boys that are within his network in the distribution of his products are all multimillionaires. The same with those in Auto part market and Building Materials. those in beauty products like Bicu and Flora Organization are doing well too.
All you need as an Igbo young man is to show up, show interest, be consistent and honest.

False! When you working, the basics can't be your problem. What we call luxuries in Nigeria are basics. When you see your tax in action, trust me, you will be happy and feel fulfilled. Life is organised and planned here. You just have to work and things will automatically fall in place "IF" you cut your coat according to your size.

In Nigeria you can still enjoy those things IF you work SMART and cut your coat according to your size.

To succeed in Nigeria you must not depend on the government knowing fully well that our government are useless.

Oga I am currently leaving a VERY comfortable life in Nigeria. I don't depend or expect anything from anyone or government in Nigeria. Every day I work hard and SMART to make sure I archive my goals for that day. As for security every country including America have their challenges.
Even prisoners will tell you that life behind bars is better. No wories about food, security 2-4-7 etc. I dont expect you to admit it . Niggerians have learnt to justify every negative vice so you're saying nothing new

True that but at least one should try and if it doesn't work, your country can not chase you away, one can always try again or decide to do another thing in Nigeria. When you lose your job abroad, chances of getting another is high even if it is not a dream job, it keeps you going. We all know the system over there is better than the one we have here in Nigeria. My family deserves to have the things I didn't have. They shouldn't face this hell of a country again. Aren't u tired of how things are in this country already?

Okay. Let me try to agree with you.

Where will the cost of running and servicing your generator come from?

Cost of servicing your car at regular intervals doe to bad roads?

Cost of servicing health and educational bills since you have no option than to go private.

Cost of private security you pay for on monthly basis.

If you add it all up and deduct it from your profit, tell me what you left with. You just be giving you are progressing but in actual sense, you struggling.

Nigeria has no life to offer you if you legit.

My brother no let good news from far about business fool you oo. Of the businesses you've mentioned here, I've got first hand experience in at least 3-4 and I'd tell you Bro it's not always rosy inside like it looks from far oo cheesy

You see especially that Uber, except you be like me when no dey fear to fight or beat person, bros no do am ooo. If na you Wan drive the motor by yourself sha no wahala!

Mini gas refill station, didn't you read the news on how government wants to ban them now? Plus it's not rosy too oo... na town when better gas plants no many nai e go move.

Buying food to sell in large quantities, good business until those market women run you out of business Lol this na very personal experience.

Summary of what I'm saying Bro is this... Running a business in Nigeria ain't easy just take note. You may not have my kind of experience but 70% of people in the business know what I'm talking about.

The best businesses to invest into in Nigeria now are tech startups and Innovations. Businesses that already have a crowd should be avoided as much as possible. Better to create a niche than fight for recognition in an already saturated market

Thank you for telling him how it is o bro. They think business is that easy. I laugh in swahili.

See eh, I don't know about others but to me, I prefer a system that works to making a whole lot of money. Hitherto, I thought of going entrepreneurial (fortunately, I've everything an entrepreneur needs to start) but after analysing the country's future and seeing how things are going, I'm not interested anymore. I prefer a salaried work in a place where things work. I've not seen electricity for more than a quarter! It has been generators all through and trust me, the maintenance, fuelling cost no be here.

Having lots of money is good oh but what is the point having such in a place where one gets harassed by SARS, potential to get kidnapped, poor health facilities, unemployed people around who can become criminals overnight, poor infrastructure, multiple taxation etc? The last few months have reinforced my interest in staying in a place where things work. Is it harassment from SARS? Multiple taxation? Poor infrastructure? Please note, I'm not complaining but pointing out the realities. As a result, I cannot blame anyone who is interested in relocating provided it's legal.

My grandfather told my father Nigeria will be better, my dad told me same. Should I tell my children same?

Thank you for this write up bro. You said it how it is. It's what I have been trying to tell Emotionss

Check the investments section of Nairaland, some serious gems. If you want low risk and have a source income already then you can stick 3M in T Bills and use return as additional income source.

Alright then. Everyone can not leave the country anyway, I used to go against the idea of leaving the country too but not anymore due to the current state of things in the country, in fact I support people to leave now. It's all about what works for each individual anyway. May God keep elevating you and make you very successful in your businesses. God bless Nigeria.

One thing I have been doing for almost all my life, is to always see the positive side of things. In every situation I try to think of a positive outcome because failing to do so have more bigger consequences.and that has help me a lot. Nigeria may not be an ideal place to succeed for some people but there are still people who are making it big legitimately in Nigeria even without connections.

I never said Nigeria isn't an ideal place to succeed. I know persons who are succeeding in Nigeria legally, educated formally and informally. People are making money here and fortunately, I've had a fair share at a young age, so I cannot criticise the aspect of making money/succeeding in one's career or business. However, the quality of life is sub-zero!

Do you know with a cryptocurrency called Rainbow Currency it is easy to travel outside Nigeria for vacation?

This is how to use cryptocurrency to travel abroad.

You can use Rainbow Currency to buy Twnkl Estate Coin (TEC) and use TEC to become a part owner or sole owner of real estate in Europe. Imagine applying for a visa and presenting verifiable documents showing that you are the part owner of a real estate property in Europe. Don't you think it would improve your visa application chances?

You can use Rainbow Currency to buy Twnkl Vacation Coin (TVC) and use TVC to book cheap hotel accommodation. This would also be used to apply for your visa.

A cryptocurrency can help you travel abroad at a far cheaper rate. Cryptocurrency is Life!
