What most of us need is an environment where things work. Where U are rewarded for your hard work and where your hardwork pays. I dont expect things to be easy for me in America, or Canada or Germany. If things were not easy for me in my so-called fatherland then why expect it somewhere else.

The truth about these countries most of us run to or plan to run to, is that you have the opportunity to thrive. Today, the Nigerian system has a keep them down syndrome. If dont know somebody somewhere, then you may not be able to have that career breakthrough you have always dreamt of, or land that job you have acquired a qualification for.

Try to establish your own business and see the government and their touts come at you with various rents, rates and taxes to be paid. Yet at the end of the day, there is nothing to show for paying those monies.

My opinion will always be, if you have the opportunity to leave, leave!

I don't know about you but as for me 3 millions is more than enough to make me start up a business and nurture to grow. I currently have 2 cars that I use as uber and currently trying to buy another one. Guess what ? The money I used to start was not even up to a million. The profit from the first car and my monthly salaries was what I used to buy the second and about to buy the third one.

How much do you make roughly on a monthly basis and what kind of car do you use??

I just finished reading this content on nairametrics. The truth remains that you don't necessarily have to leave this country to make it in life. Oh and the notion that there is no good jobs around is a big lie. There are lots of good high paying jobs around. The question is, have you built yourself to land these jobs. These are not the jobs you get with your basic BSC from most Nigerian Universities.

A lot of you waste your time here being tribalistic while forgetting to add value to your self. Oh, in case you don't know, all these tribal battles most of you engage in have turned this platform to a playground. Most people looking for serious people don't come here anymore. I was talking to an HR consultant days back and she was looking for peeps to fill in some job vacancies with take-home of 500k and above monthly. I suggested she check on nairaland. She simply told me you don't see such calibre of people on nairaland. That she comes here only when she's looking for people for unserious roles like drivers, admin assistants and similar low ass jobs.

Leave nairaland and go and build yourself for the future.

Give him that 3 million Naira, he'll run to career pages and blogs to ask what business he can start with that money. Starting and running a business in 9ja is even harder than getting a job.

Poor power supply alone will cripple that business (from experience).

. I love ur response to that guy! Do u know that the effort u put in Nigeria everyday just to earn 100k a month if u put the same effort out there u will make 500k. Out there they no us as workaholics coz we are strong and ready to work. If u are being paid 7$ per hour x it by 12 and see if u earn such in Nigeria.

*Security
*Power
*Good Roads
*Educational Structure
*Merit
*Godfatherism
*Churches teaching us Love And Telling Us To Invest for ourselves for the future rather than giving all to the church etc.
Just to mention a few, Are checked and are made to work regardless of what tribe or party is in power then we have a long way Togo.
Aside Lagos and Abuja that seem to be gradually developing (beautification wise) many other states are nothing to be compared to these two states.
I live in Benin and I can assure you it's opposite of these other states and there are no such jobs as high profile jobs in this part. You're either working for the state govt, a subsidiary of nnpc (which we all know openings are given based on favouritism) and a few other private firms. A majority have opted to use their cars for Uber (mostly graduates) we all can't be in either of lagos or Abuja.
The system made potential world changers and great minds to forget the dreams we once had but opt for petty businesses that even the govt doesn't help them groom to sustainability.
Am 34yrs and I sang we are the leaders of tomorrow whilst in primary school. Am older now and Am still hearing kids sing same song. Truth is Nigerians aren't Living, they are surviving. Who has the chance to leave should leave, its part of life's experience.
The people we vote in power suddenly become those we are unable to reach because of Status differences.

You must bribe your way at every turn, buy generator, you cant even buy any car you want because there are no roads+ buying a very expensive car is an invitation for robbers and kidnappers.
