Iblad0994: that was in the past bro, politics in SW is the most dynamic in the country. There's a lot of seething anger in SW against Apc/Buhari unless Apc adresses it,I just don't see it..and these angry people don't talk much on social media. Tinubu is not even universally liked in SW and that's the reality, even if he does not contest it will rub on whoever he presents,Fashola or osibanjo...it will be case of transfferd agression.. the biggest stumbling block for Apc are their governors, former or present who ruin SW with their misgovernance, owing salaries and pensions and leaving huge debt, and most of them imposed again by mr Tinubu.. added to that is that the opposition themselves seems to have strong structures across all Sw states. The Apc has a lot of task on their hands in sw b4 2023.. or what played out in 2015 and especially 2019 will play out in SW: splitting of votes despite having the candidate. this is the reality of SW. 5 Likes |

sapoyoro: I understand where you are coming from and what you said is reasonable considering the fact that there is anger in the land and people are politically conscious in the SW. I wish Tinubu do not try to contest in 2023, coz he won’t get that much block vote needed for the APC in the SW. but I can beat my chest that the SW voters will vote Fashola/ Osinbajo with all the vote they can muster coz those guys still enjoy some form of adulation from the Yorubas. You should know politics is about choosing between two people, are you telling me the SW voters will vote for Kwakwanso/Takbuwal as they would vote Fashola/Osinbajo? A lot of things will come into play, and dynamics will change. Most voters in the SW don’t even know who Tambuwal is, forget about the hype these online urchins are attributing to Tambuwal, he is not popular like that and Kwakwanso also got lot of enemies even in the North. The only person that will give the SW a hard time is when PDP fields Atiku in 2023. Coz some voters in the SW will vote that man considering the nature of the 2019 election and based on his popularity and spending power. 5 Likes 1 Share |

Iblad0994: you made some good points but as a realistic person from Sw,I will not be surprised to see tambuwal, kwankwanso split votes in Sw and even winning some states....a feck you by some people to Buhari, tinubu and his candidates...and their governors if I have to face what's on ground across sw there's nothing right now at all that suggest Osinbajo or fashola are that all round popular to even get 60% percent of votes across all sw, maybe fashola in lagos sha.. Apc should not live in a delusion that a yoruba candidate equal block votes from the region. Sw is a very dynamic society. a lot like you said can change b4 2023 but to be honest with you Apc has a huge task on their hands in Sw,and they have to adress it too. 3 Likes 1 Share |

A southern anointed candidate of Buhari will do the bidding of the present structure and no good for Nigeria. I suggest that the country be broken up. The contraption called Nigeria has failed. There is no country where complete distrust and disharmony exist as we have it now. The fear of reprisal for the behavior of the Fulani is what will not allow power to shift down south. If does shift, you can be sure to have a strong vice president who will not allow the President to freely act for the benefit of the country. So the country is doomed to merry-go-round life of development and strife. So a break up is the best advice The SW is the one keeping Nigeria together. The day the SW voice out for Oduduwa, Nigeria distengrates immediately The chicken will go roost then Let's end it all. QuotaSystem: 3 Likes 1 Share |

Finally yorubas have come to terms with the reality that SS and SE vote as a block and will never vote a SWner who have done their turn. After years of deceiving themselves by using fake online usernames to try to cause division between the two historically contiguous regions. Finally sense don dey gum them. 2023 will be interesting. PDP should NEVER make the mistake of zoning it's ticket before APC zones theirs. Let APC choose it's candidate from the SW first then PDP can take from there. If APC chooses a SE candidate, then PDP will have a lot to worry and have no option than to zone to the East. There is no region that has more legimitate claim to the presidency than the East as it stand, but to ensure that treachery is not rewarded, it will be ready to have the north keep power till the two parties zone to the East, the way it was done for the yorubas the only time they ever produced an elected president. What is good for Okeke should be done for Okafor. Shikena. Political Ojukokoro will cause serious issues for the SW in 2023. We dey watch. 17 Likes 3 Shares |

livebyday: What is derailing in what I said. When is it a sin to mention a certain tribe on Nairaland? Because I said i pity them for what is happening, does that necessarily mean I'm derailing the thread. Are we operating under a military regime on Nairaland where the MOD will dictate every word we need to use? I as much as I am not abusing any tribe I think you are the one derailing the thread yourself. 3 Likes |

QuotaSystem: Your first paragraph appears to be some form of fantasy. So the constitution of the country is inferior to that of a particular zone just because nature took its course............... Now as regards zoning for political parties.......... With the PDP, they are expected to field a candidate from the eastern region. While the APC will bring someone from the west for the presidential election. There are 4 zones politically and are, west, north, south and east. I intentionally put it in this order because of the flow of presidential aspirants and presidents from 1999 till 2015 as regarding the PDP. I see no serious contentions as to whatever is before the west or north. The east is expected to change their manner of politics if they truly desire to have a president of their kinsman irrespective of which party is incumbent of opposition. It's automatic for the south when its their turn it will be in place. |

QuotaSystem: If the north truly cares about the unity of Nigeria then they should support the SE to produce the next president. That is the right thing to do. If power is to return to the south it shouldn't go to the SW. It's time for the SE to produce a Nigerian president. 10 Likes 1 Share |

...and if they get the power, nothing changes for good for the SW and SE regions in Nigeria. Hausa/Fulani shall still be in control of Nigeria through the skewed and fake 36 states + Abuja political structure of Nigeria with 19 states + Abuja in north alone. The road to Sango Ota was not tarred in 8 years OBJ was president. Pipe borne water was not in Goodluck Jonathan's Otuoke all the years Jonathan was president.
