We are the best team in the classification. So it looks like we will be ranked number 17.

2 years or less from now we should be a solid top 10 basketball nation.
Re: Nigeria Basketball Thread! by kris(m): 5:05pm On Sep 09, 2019

With the poor support from the NBBF and Naija people as a whole for basketball, I doubt most will even accept the call. Especially the really good players

It’s very interesting. But I don’t think it matches the drama that soccer provides
Re: Nigeria Basketball Thread! by somehow: 10:24pm On Sep 13, 2019
Football has many followers but believes me, if you tell an average American or Philipino to choose between football and basketball, both will surely go for the latter. They eat and sleep basketball in these countries. (Though BB is not the most followed sports in the US)

Argentina vs Spain in the finals.

Both Spanish speaking countries.

Who will win this matchup come Sunday?

Spain have more known names than Argentina but France and Serbia had more known names than Argentina, yet got walloped.

Who are you rooting for?
Re: Nigeria Basketball Thread! by steady986(m): 3:17pm On Sep 15, 2019
Spain are the FIBA World Cup champions, defeating Argentina 95-75.

The #FIBAWorldCup all-star five:

Ricky Rubio (Spain)
Bogdan Bogdanovic (Serbia)
Evan Fournier (France)
Luis Scola (Argentina)
Marc Gasol (Spain)

MVP: Ricky Rubio

Things are rapidly changing in the US bro, the level of soccer followership is peaking high.

Aminu is not African-born. He’s Nigerian-American, he plays for Nigeria, but he’s not African-born. He was born in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.

Giannis should be in your African bloodies list. He has a Yoruba dad and an Igbo mother.
Re: Nigeria Basketball Thread! by TheSuperNerd(m): 10:47pm On Sep 19, 2019
What you quoted clearly says Giannis Tops the list. Read it again.

And I think what Sports Illustrated mean by African born is those players with distinct African ties whether born in Africa or abroad. I believe they refer to being born to an African parent.
